Where to Find the Top 3 Microbreweries in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Alfonso Coley
For the distinguished beer lover there is no better place to enjoy your favorite pint of ale than to visit one of the top three microbreweries in the Myrtle Beach area. The majority of beer lovers have come to know that there may be no finer enjoyment than to taste the sweet hops that are especially brewed under strict confidence. The top three microbrewery outlets in Myrtle Beach beer ingredients are made from scratch; no ale has the same taste, as each brewed beer has their own distinctive taste, which sets them apart from other local beer joints.

Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery

1321 Liberty Circle / Broadway at the Beach
Myrtle Beach, SC29577
(843) 839-4677

Liberty Steakhouse opened its door to the Grand Strand in 2005, and ever since - this beer haven has been a fan favorite of the locals and tourist alike. Each of Liberty Steakhouse microbrews has their own unique distinct taste, but you may have to visit this establishment a few times to enjoy the full flavor of their brews. Each microbrew was formulated to accommodate a wide variety of their meals. All of Liberty Steakhouse microbrews are available on tap, some of their top selling and all time ales include the Pale Ale, which is coopered-colored, and has a tongue pleasing taste of flora hops aroma, the aged hops add to the distinct soothing taste. The second favorite all-time microbrew is the Oatmeal Stout; it is a full bodied beer, and dark black in color, it has a rich chocolate flavor, in addition to that this ale will accommodate any steak. The Liberty Steakhouse also has a seasonal collection of six ales that are available all year long.

New South Brewing Company

851 Campbell
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
(843) 916-2337

New South is a unique brewery that specifically caters to bottled brew that can be found at most super markets located in Myrtle Beach. The New South Company began their brewing aspirations in 1999, and ever since have become favorite ale among beer drinkers in the Myrtle Beach area. New South ales are not for the faint of heart; each beer has a smooth flavor, and yet contains special ingredients that are very uplifting to the beer drinker's spirit. Two of New South best selling ales are the New South Lager; it is a very light lager which won a gold medal in 2001 at the German American Beer Festival. The other fan favorite is the New South India Pale Ale; it has a distinct bitter taste which does not disturb the palate, it also has a creamy taste which sets this micro brew apart from the rest of the pact. New South Brewery also has a Pale, Brown, and Lager to accommodate the three seasons.

TBonz Gill & Grill

Barefoot Landing
4732 Hwy 17S North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
(843) 272-7111

There are not many microbreweries that offer a fun variety of tasty beer than what TBonz has to offer to the thirsty patron whom have come to prefer microbrews over the same old beer. Any beer lover will enjoy TBonz variety of microbrews that accommodate every meal. TBonz has five microbrews to choose from, and it will depend on the patron's taste on which ale suits their taste buds. The Cooper River Red is a full bodied ale that has a caramel sweet taste. For the more distinct beer lover; the Market Street Wheat is a special blend of American style wheat which has a golden color, and has a memorable tart flavor. The Nut Brown Ale has become a fan favorite in recent years, because this ale has a hint of chocolate - which goes very well with salmon and red snapper. TBonz also offer specialty ale, and seasonal ale which have become very popular in the last three years.

I personally did not include any website addresses in this beer review, due to the fact it would be better to visit one of these establishments, and let your taste buds be the judge.

FYI - New South Brewing (est. 1998) does not Bottle. Since 1998 we have been a draft only until 2009. In 2009 we started canning our White Ale, which is the Flagship Brew of our Company. Our products include Lager, Nut Brown Ale, Nitrogen pumped IPA, Octoberfest and Dark Star Porter. We are open on Tue. and Thru. from 3:00 - 5:30 for Free Samples, Tours and Sales. Thanks for the Review.
