When my son was four, I bought a new bedding set for my bed. Once the initial set-up was finished, I asked my son what he thought. He looked at me quizzically, and said, "Mom - why is your bed wearing a skirt?" At first glance, boys and bed skirts aren't two things you would think of as going together. There are many benefits to a bed skirt (or dust ruffle, which your boy would probably find equally unmanly). First, it can add some decorative flare to an otherwise plain room scheme. Though they do have bed skirts designed to match some of their boys bedding, their strength lies in their wide variety of reasonably priced solid-colored twin bed skirts. For instance, the Canopy Simply Solids Bed Skirt comes in a twin size for only $15.88 and is made of 350-thread-count cotton sateen. These are offered in various shades of reds, greens, browns and blues, and some can also be purchased in a twill fabric.
