It is possible that RV dealers that sell used campers also have used items for sale. The biggest advantage to buying from a dealer is that the used vehicle will probably have been inspected for mechanical and structural problems. They will do this before it is put out on their lot for sale.
You might also look for estate auctions and bankruptcy sales. You never know what will be for sale at these types of places, but you might just luck out. If you can find a used RV camper at a sale of this type, you can probably get a great deal. However, be sure to do a thorough inspection of the vehicle. There may be more repairs than you are willing to undertake no matter how much money is saved.
It is also possible to find used RV campers in online auctions or classified websites. Online auctions may include such sites as eBay. You can find classified ads for just about anything on LocalSalesNetwork or Craigslist. If you are buying in an auction, be very careful. You will not be able to see or test-drive the RV camper before you purchase. This can lead to a huge variety of problems. Be sure to check out the reputation of the seller, if that is possible. You do not want to be stuck with a piece of junk you paid a huge price for that needs numerous repairs.
Check with local banks or finance companies. You may be able to purchase an RV camper that has been repossessed. Again, be sure to inspect it carefully. Sometimes, when people know their vehicle is going to be repossessed, they will do intentional damage. Or at the least, they may not perform maintenance that the RV camper needs. It is another good way to find a bargain. Just beware of what you are getting for the low price.
A business that rents RV campers may offer some of their older models up for sale. They may be replacing their fleet or getting out of the business. Either way, you can cash in and save some money. Be aware, however, that any vehicle that has been used by multiple renters may have more wear and tear than something that has been used by one or two owners. Again, do a thorough inspection before you buy the vehicle. These companies will keep the RV campers running and in minimal good shape to keep them available for rent. But, they may not keep them in tip top shape to help with overhead and profits.
If you can find a used RV camper, you will be able to save a lot of money over a new vehicle. You just need to be aware of what to look for and be a careful shopper. Hopefully, these tips will help you find a good deal on an RV camper for you and your family.
