Where to Find Vintage Authentic Baseball Cards Online

Michael Luchies
As a longtime sports collectible enthusiast, I know from experience that it's not always easy to find the exact piece that you are looking for. Although my expertise lies more in ticket stub collecting, I have been collecting baseball cards for over 15 years. With the emergence of the Internet, those hard to find vintage baseball cards are no longer as hard to find. Here are my top four websites to check out for finding vintage baseball cards.

Vintage Baseball Card Websites

Heritage Auction Galleries (www.ha.com)
Heritage auctions have some of the best sports memorabilia that can be found on earth. At any given time there are many ongoing auctions of vintage baseball cards. I have personally purchased auction lots from Heritage Auctions and have been very pleased with the price I acquired them at, the condition, and the quality of shipping. You can find PSA graded cards and graded cards on heritage auctions website HA.com. For current Heritage Auction baseball card listings check here.

eBay (www.ebay.com)
Use eBay as a resource for your baseball card collection but not an ultimate market place. EBay can be a great place to find a steal, but it may be hard to gage the actual condition of the card and authenticity through eBay due to the amount of scams. EBay has thousands of vintage baseball cards and cards frequently sell for much less than their book value. Before purchasing any vintage baseball card online, I would check eBay to see what they are currently going for. Put several auctions in your watch list and track the price. Make sure to check the eBay seller's rating before bidding on a high priced vintage card to make sure you are purchasing an authentic card from an honest person or business.

Dave's Vintage Baseball Cards (www.GFG.com/baseball)
When searching for anything, a quick Google search is a must. When searching "Vintage Baseball Cards" the 1st natural listing was Dave's Vintage Baseball Cards (www.gfg.com/baseball). The site needs updating, and the navigation isn't the best either, but the selection may be the best I've found online other than eBay. They have a great selection of rookie cards and a list of inventory by year.

Beckett (www.beckett.com)
The best message board site for sports collectible collectors in my opinion. Beckett.com is also a great place to find vintage baseball cards and find out their worth. Beckett has a very nice website, but finding vintage baseball cards takes some work by the user. You must use the search to find specific cards instead of just browsing a list of older cards. There are plenty of results for each player in terms of baseball cards. Doing a search for Al Kaline revealed over 2,000 available cards.
