Where to Find Women's Budget-Friendly Athletic Shoes

Sophia S. Mark
Athletes go through several pairs of high-tech shoes every year, and the quality and technology that goes into each pair is definitely worth the splurge. There are several brands of women's athletic shoes that any serious athlete, or someone who enjoys a good workout, can consider at bargain prices. I do not consider myself a serious athlete by any means, but when I began running regularly and had to change my sneakers more often, I started looking for quality women's shoes that were budget friendly.

If you go through several pairs of running shoes every year and are also looking for good athletic shoes that are budget friendly, here are a few options that I found are reliable when it comes to quality and performance.

Champion Shoes
Champion has been making performance driven athletic wear since 1919, and it has developed more than its share of trends and new technology. In the athletic women's shoe line, which can be found at the Payless Shoe chain, attention is paid to small details that really make an athlete's shoe selection so important. Ventilation, padded insoles, lightweight and flexible materials, and memory technology are just some of the features that several of the shoes have. The several different types of sneakers cover different needs and all range within fifteen to thirty dollars, which is very budget friendly.

Eleven by Venus Williams
Any designer or athlete that pairs up with retail clothing giant Steve and Barry's, is a hero of mine. A few years ago I made the occasional trip inside the clothing giant to pick up a few t-shirts, but in the last couple of years several big names in entertainment and sports have signed on to create full clothing lines. Eleven by Venus Williams offers casual women's athletic clothing, shoes and accessories exclusively at Steve and Barry stores. Perfect for workouts, light jogging, tennis and other athletic activities, the shoes in the Eleven line will only cost you twenty dollars. In fact, the last time I shopped at Steve and Barry's I purchased four pairs at nine dollars each during their annual clearance sale.

Zappos
If you absolutely have to have another pair of New Balance sneakers, because that is what you have become comfortable wearing try Zappos. Zappos is an online discount shoe retailer that carries several brands of well known women's athletic shoes including New Balance, Nike, Addidas, Pumas, and Reebok. I have been able to find everything from the previous season to the previous year available on Zappos.
