Where to Find Xbox 360's Kinect from Online Retailers

Jennifer Amlie
Since the Xbox 360's Kinect release this week, there have been reports that major retailers are sold out. Whether this is marketing ploy of Microsoft's or not, the fact remains that the hype surrounding Kinect is huge. If you plan on purchasing Kinect for the Holidays, the best strategy is to start looking now. Here's where Kinect can be found in stock at online retailers.

Kinect on Ebay
As of today, there are 19 pages of reasonably priced Kinect bundles on ebay. The regular retail price of Kinect is $150.00 for the sensor and the Kinect Adventures game. For a Kinect bundle with an Xbox 360 console, the prices range from about $250.00 to $400.00. The Kinect with Xbox 360 bundle seems to be easier to find then just Kinect.

Kinect on Wal-Mart.com
Kinect is available on walmart.com for $199.99. This price includes the Kinect sensor, the Adventures game, and another game. There is a list of Kinect games you can pick from. Other games include Kinectimals, Kinect Joy Ride, and Kinect Sports.

Kinect on Amazon.com
The reports that Kinect is sold-out stems from Amazon.com sales. While it's true Amazon is out of stock, their third party sellers have Kinect here. Amazon does have bundles with the 360 console included in stock.

Kinect on Bestbuy.com
The other retailer the sold out reports focused on is Best Buy. Their website does have Kinect bundles with the console in stock. The $150.00 Kinect bundle is listed as back ordered. According to the website, it should leave the warehouse in 1 to 2 weeks. If you order soon, there should be no problem getting Kinect from Best Buy before Christmas.

Look on other websites for Kinect
Did you think Kinect would be sold at Barnes and Noble online? I didn't, but it's there and in stock. Dell.com and Toys R Us.com also seems to have Kinect in stock. When searching for Kinect online, think outside of the regular video game retailers. Chances are you might be able to find Kinect just because nobody's looking for it there.

Christmas is still a over a month away, but when it comes to big video game releases, it's better to shop early. Whether Kinect is really in short supply remains to be seen, but if you really want it, the best thing to do is start looking now.

I am finding it hard to believe that this is selling so well. If not purposeful shortage, people must be buying into that $500 million marketing campaign

Matt has been looking since yesterday. I guess we will have to do the Ebay thing, like we did for the Wii when that came out! Thanks for the heads up!
