There is a site out there that will give you your credit score for free, with no strings attached. Plus they offer more valuable information to help build up your credit, and to make you aware of how credit works. This useful information is in the form of articles and links to other legit sites.
The free credit report site I am referring to is CreditKarma.com. They have an Alexa rating of 46,142 at the time of this article. Alexa rank's sites by popularity 1 is the most popular and 1,000,000 has hardly any visitors. The site you are on now Associated Content has a very high ranking of 769.
At CreditKarma.com you will be able to create an account with a user name and password. You can follow you credit score periodically throughout the month. Your account will not be deleted and there are no hidden agreements that you must fulfill.
According to the top page what they offer for free is: Helpful Credit Advice, Credit Score Comparisons and Tools, and No Hidden Fees and Always Free. They are able to maintain the site by using ads, and the 'My Karma Offers'. These offers range from helping you get a credit card to Netflix.
If you are interested in buying a house you can check out the Home Affordability calculator and the Simple Loan calculator. They also offer the national overnight averages for Mortgage rates, Home Equity, and CD and Deposits. All of this information is for free you will not have to pay a monthly amount to get what you can at Credit Karma.
A couple of drawbacks I have noticed to this site are that you will not get your credit report. Credit Karma will only offer you the credit score for free. I wish there were fewer ads on the site they work these into the site so that it looks like it is part of the information provided. Users are able to vote on the different offers by the ones they like best. It helps to read comments and know what you will be getting into if you decide to sign up for one of the Credit Karma offers.

Post a CommentGreat info here! I am about to go try it out now. Thanks for the article.
I've used Credit Karma. It's great to find out your score, but you can get a free credit report once a year from the 3 credit agencies: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
