Where to Go for Date Night in Roanoke, VA

Katie Hart
It is a Saturday night and the children are sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. What on earth are you and your sweetie going to do? Well, depending on how tired you are after a week full of work, dinner, homework, soccer practice, piano lessons, scouts you are exhausted. Well for date night in Roanoke, Virginia might I suggest going to the Grandin Road area. Call ahead and make a reservation for the Isaacs Restaurant. It is located on 1910 Memorial Avenue. In 2008 The Isaacs Restaurant expanded and doubled the size of their dinning area. They are open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm and Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm. The Isaacs serve delicious Mediterranean food. My favorite is the Chicken Shawarma (which is a make your own chicken pita) with pita fries (they taste just like steak fries). Make sure you save room for dessert. Be sure to try the Baklava Sampler to share. All I can say is yum. After you are nice and full from The Isaacs, take a short walk around the block to the Grandin Theatre. It is located at 1310 Grandin Road. This historic theatre is a beautiful sight. You will feel like you are in an old movie theatre.

If this adventure is a little too pricey for your budget right now I have another suggestion. We are going to stay in the Grandin Road area. First fix a nice dinner at home. Turn down the lights and light some candles. Have some beautiful music in the background. Enjoy your lovely dinner, but do not eat dessert. For your dessert drive back to our favorite Grandin Road and visit Pops. They have the best milk shakes in town. That place has the neatest old soda malt shop feel and look to it. After you enjoy your shakes (or take them with you) go for a drive up to Mill Mountain and go visit the star. We pass it every day and never think much about it. You can never visit it too many times. There is such a beautiful view of the Roanoke Valley from the star.

After your date night remember to say I love you. The next day goes back to the real world full of soccer practice, piano lessons, and scouts.

It is one of my favorite places to eat. I eat very little meat and nothing like Mary's Little Lamb, Bambi, or any other cute animals. =)
Have a date night. Actually, Landon likes to eat there.
