Where to Go on the Fouth of July in New York

If you're looking for some fun activities to do this Wednesday, July Fourth, New York's got just what you are looking for.

On Wednesday, July Fourth, Macy's will be hosting their 31st annual fireworks display on the east river. The festivities will begin at 9:20pm. Live music will be performed by Broadway stars. For information on where to get the best views of the fireworks display you can go to the Macy's website.

If you are looking for something to do on the island, we've got a lot of festivities going on, on both sides of the island. For only $8.00 people can go to the Jones Beach fireworks display, hosted by North Fork Bank.There will be music provided by Q104.3 FM. The celebration starts at 9:30 p.m. Sorry, alcoholic beverages are not prohibited.

Don't want to go to the beach to see the fireworks? Then how about going on a cruise. The Captree State Park is having a fireworks cruise which takes you from the park to Jones Beach to see the fireworks display on the water. The fee is $40.00 per person. The celebration begins at 6:50 p.m. Food and drinks are available during the cruise. The park is located of the Robert Moses causeway.

Old Bethpage Restoration Village is hosting an old fashioned celebration from the year 1865. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. The celebration includes: a parade, musket firings, a reenactment of the Union Soldiers after their victory over the Confederacy. They will also have plenty of children's games available. The Old Bethpage Restoration village is located on Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage. The fee for admission is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 4-14 and senior citizens. To find out more information about these festivities you may call (516) 572-8400.

In celebration of our 26th President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, and all he had done for this country; The Nassau and Suffolk Counties Horseman's Association's Rough Rider's Calvary will be hosting a parade that goes down Oyster Bay's Main Street and leads to the town hall in Hicksville. The festivities are to begin at 10:00 a.m. While at 2:00 p.m. the Oyster Bay Community Band will be performing at the historic home of Teddy Roosevelt, on Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay.

For the eastern end of Long Island you may want to go to see "Stars Over Montauk" on Umbrella Beach. The fireworks display will begin at 9:00 p.m.
