If you feel stressed out about your ability to afford dates you may want to consider toning down how much you are spending. There are other opportunities and places you can spend less money and still give a good impression. If you learn the tricks of living on a budget you can reap the reward of putting this extra money into your retirement account of which half of people will retire with less than 100K.
Great Places to Take a Date:
1.) Coffee Shops: If you can't afford the $4.00 it is going to cost you to go to a coffee shop then you should be more worried about having enough money to eat then going out on dates. If you mention that you would like to get to know a person better and prefer developing a meaningful relationship there is a good chance you will not look cheap.
2.) Take them to Lunch: Lunch is always cheaper then dinner. You can tell them that you have very busy in the evenings and see if they would be interested in eating lunch. The great thing about this is that you look busy and professional while still saving money. They will also drive themselves and you can leave when the lunch is over.
3.) Meet them Out at the Club: Call in the early afternoon and tell them you are going out on a business dinner tonight but you wanted to see if they would be interested in meeting up for cocktails. Even though you might spend $20 on drinks you are still able to get the best bang for your buck.
4.) Take them for a Stroll in the Park: Tell them that you need to get your exercise and want to see if they would be interested in walking in the park. They may like the chance to do something besides simply going out to dinner. When the walk is over you can invite them to coffee or set up another date.
