A Poem About Me

Phillip Wachowiak
I am from two different families,

both wonderful and kind.

I come from tortillas and tamales,

and all the Mexican food you can find.

I came from Lockwood,

a white house on a street,

from fried food and a Catholic school

from a lifetime ago that I used to eat.

I am from a working father and mother,

from glasses and animals and contacts.

I'm from sports and playing and running around,

from learning to write, to read, and some facts.

I'm from old memories and things passed down,

good healthy meals and the news of the world.

And I'm from money and work and chores in the house,

from clean hands and God and from lives of others being unfurled.
