Where Japanese Anime Fans Can Find Their Favorite Anime Music

Japanese Anime is a popular form of entertainment. Not only are its plots and art interesting but the music is also very good, even though it is in Japanese. Many devout fans of their favorite anime series desire to have the full version of the songs featured in the shows. Because the music is created by Japanese artist it is not available in American stores. There are many web sites that offer downloads of anime music, but their selections are limited. After reviewing different sites I found one that I would recommend to anime music lovers. It is Gendou.com Gendou has different interesting features. It offers music downloads, membership, forums, a chat room, and radio.

Music
Gendou.com has over 4,500 anime music mp3 files. The particular anime musical selection that you are looking for can be found by typing the name of the anime show in the search box and click on the search button. Next all of the musical pieces for the anime show will appear. For example, if you type in Naruto, a very popular, Japanese anime series, every musical piece played in every Naruto episode, Naruto:Shippuuden, and Naruto movie appears in a list. The list shows the title of every song. It tells whether the song is from the Naruto series, the Naruto:Shippuuden, or the Naruto movies. It lists the name of the artist for each song, whether the song is an opening or ending, the length of time for the song, and the size of the song.

By clicking on a song's title it can be easily downloaded. Unfortunately music can only be downloaded using the Firefox browser. If you are interested in downloading other songs by a particular artist, just click on the artist's name. All of the songs from other episodes and from other anime shows performed by the artist will appear.

Gendou has the lyrics for every anime song. The lyrics come in English, Kanji (Japanese Script), and Romaji (Japanese English). The lyric cannot be downloaded but you can copy and paste the lyrics to a word document. Not all songs have English translation of the lyrics. However, because the songs are all done by Japanese artists, they all list lyrics in Kanji and Romaji.

Membership
Membership is required to download music, post comments on the forum and use the chat room. Detail personal information is not requires. You are only asked to provide a valid email address and make a password and username. Membership is free. All though members are asked to make donations to the site. As a member you are given a page to create a brief profile of yourself and a message board for sending and receiving massages from other Gendou members.

Forum
Forum discussions are in English and Japanese. Discussion topic are only anime related. They discuss new anime shows and anime characters, web sites for viewing streaming anime videos and for downloading videos, anime music and sound tracks, video games, and Japanese related topics.

Chat Room
Live chats can be done with fellow Gendou members. However the chat room can clog up your computer. Some time it does not show. The best way to communicate with other members would be through the forum.

Radio
Radio section allows members to listen to Anime soundtracks without downloading them. This is good for those who want to listen to music for anime series they have not watched without having to download it. After listening to the selection on the radio you may download it if you choose to. If there is an anime song that a member wishes to listen to but the radio does not have, the members may request the musical selection and Gendou will get it and notify the member who requested it to log on to the Gendou site to listen to it. The radio section lists the players that its music can be heard on. The players are Winamp, Madia Player, Real Player, and Tune. In addition to anime music the radio plays other types of music as well.

Being a Japanese anime fan, I visit Gendou often. Of all the anime music sites that I have visited I feel that Gendou offers the best features. I would recommend the site to anyone who enjoys Japanese anime as much as I do.
