can't seem to find myself no sleep at all
lately i
just lie awake here and dream
~ray lamontagne
what i
wouldn't give
for a vision
to believe in
or a walk
on the water
or a pillow-less bed
made with sheets
of paper
and an ink
well down
from the foot
of the bed
where my mind wanders on
what i
wouldn't do
for an evening or two
made of memories
and fate
and a trip
beyond the ways
or a shallow cell
where the water
from the well
can cool
pool
and sink between my toes
what i
wouldn't give
to be far
from here
to be near
and far
from the in between
to wander
the moon
and my pillow-less bed
where the dreams
from my head
are real
