Where and How to Get a Nintendo Wii on Black Friday

Most likely any parent has been badgered by their kids for a Nintendo Wii, excited both about the sports games and the myriad of small features that make it unique in the console gaming world. But if you're like everyone else in Louisiana, you've called every GameStop, EB Games, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and even Dan's Clearance Store and Chad's Pawnshop in hopes of finding one, only to be told that none are in stock. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise really, as GameStops will literally sell them as quickly as they get them in - I've seen them go before 10am at times.

At the moment, you probably aren't going to find any outside of Best Buys on their ship days - if even then. For now most parents in Louisiana are having to rely on their eBay accounts, which usually comes with either unreliable console systems, broken console systems, or worst of all, a ridiculously high receipt. Therefore, knowing that your children probably won't be able to play with it until Christmas anyway, surprisingly Black Friday is the best day to get your hands on one of these much coveted systems.

GameStops across Louisiana will be opening early on Black Friday in anticipation of the rush, and will have with them the much anticipated Nintendo Wii systems. Normally each store will get in 2-4 systems every shipment, in this case, GameStops are expecting a shipment of 6-10, meaning that while they'll have them, swooping in quickly is ideal.

To insure a stock up for the rush, GameStop has actually been steadily ordering more and more Nintendo Wiis by the week, holding them in reserve in anticipation for Black Friday. Unfortunately at this time, there are no waiting lists or deposits one can make to insure their own copies, therefore an early rise and and a line at the door is really only the surest way to guarantee yourself one.

GameStop is certainly a much more reliable outlet for acquiring your system too, than a store such as Wal-Mart or Best Buy. With flaky deliveries, high theft rates being reported, and a simple mess, many people may find themselves absent of a Nintendo Wii on that pivotal day. Furthermore, as any resident of Louisiana knows, Best Buys are few and far between - if you don't want to have to travel all the way to Lake Charles or Lafayette (which will no doubt be jampacked on Black Friday, especially with that recently busted pipeline just north of Lafayette) the best bet is a place like Rayne or Crowley.

Another key advantage is the simple quantity of customer ratio between a store like Wal-Mart or Best Buy and GameStop. On average, without a doubt, an all video game retail store is going to generate less customers than an all purpose electronics store or a mega super store that sells groceries, home utilities, tools, sporting goods, and video games all in one - therefore with the higher percentage of customers, it is very likely that someone will get to one of the big stores' limited Wiis before you do. In GameStop, the slim number of customers in comparison will actually give you an advantage in acquiring yours.

Therefore, if you're interested in getting your hands on a Wii for Christmas in Louisiana, GameStop is the way to go - especially in Crowley, where the store will be opening early, at 7am, to meet the rush.
