Pendant Lighting in the Bedroom
Whether it's the guest bedroom or a master bedroom, pendant lights can be used and aid in freeing up valuable nightstand space. It's true, by hanging the pendant lights over where you intend to place your nightstands (or where they may already be sitting,) you can eliminate the use of a bedside lamp. Plus, many pendant lights can be placed onto dimmers, so they can be used to create mood lighting in a bedroom.
Pendant Lighting in the Kitchen
As expected, pendant lighting can also be used in several different places in a kitchen: over an island, over a breakfast bar, over a small dining table, breakfast nook or even over the sink. Pendant lights are great for the kitchen because they provide task lighting throughout the room (i.e., light for areas where you complete the most tasks such as the island or the sink.)
Pendant Lighting in a Dining Room
A single pendant light isn't ideal for a dining room table (unless you've got a small, New York sized apartment with a teeny, tiny dining room table.) However, you can combine several pendants or mini pendant lights together to create adequate lighting for the dining room table. Consider varying the height of each pendant to create a unique, interesting look that rivals the look of any chandelier.
Pendant Lights in the Home
There are also several other areas of your home that could benefit from pendant lighting. For example, over a pool table or in a basement wet bar. You can also choose to use pendant lights in the same manner discussed above in regards to over nightstands; but rather using them over tables in your living room, family room or basement areas.
Of course, it doesn't end there. Pendant or mini pendant lights can be used in foyers to illuminate the room or even to illuminate a grand foyer with a staircase.
Depending upon the bathroom, it may even be possible to use pendant lights there; though be sure to choose pendant lights that are safe for use in bathrooms (i.e., it should be able to handle the steam from a shower.)
Whatever you pendant you choose, wherever you choose to put it, chances are, you'll love your pendant lighting.
