The Pumpkin Festival is open September 23 - October 30 (Friday - Sundays). There are lots of fun activities for the family at Stone Mountain Park. The event highlight includes the New - The Pumpkin Tumbler, New - Colleen and the Pesky Gnomes, Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt, the Great Pumpkin Puppet Parade, Children's Costume Contest, Storytelling, and the Pie Eating Contests.
Another place to pick pumpkins in metro Atlanta, Georgia is the Holy Cow Farm. The Holy Cow Farm is located in Alpharetta, Georgia. The farm is roughly a 45 minutes drive from downtown Atlanta. Atlanta Magazine awarded The Holy Cow Farm the best in Atlanta for 2008. The Holy Cow Farm offers the following activities for the family: pumpkins, pumpkin patch-already gathered from the field, tractor pulled hay rides, snacks and refreshment stand, picnic area, pony rides, petting zoo, farm animals, and school tours.
The third place to pick pumpkin is the Metro Atlanta, Georgia is the Twelve Oak Stable. The Twelve Oak Stable is located in Buford, Georgia. The fall crops are available in October and November. The last place to pick pumpkins in Atlanta, Georgia is at the Southern Belle Farm. The Southern Belle Farm is in McDonough, Georgia. McDonough is 45 minutes drive from downtown Atlanta. Fall farm activities for the family is usually September - November. The fall activities include the following: Corn Maize, Pig Races, Pumpkin Patch, Farm Animals, Pedal Carts, Hayride and much more.
