Where Should Pokemon Be: Portable or Console?
Should These Pocket Monsters Get a Good Console Moment as Well?
We all knew that the Pokemon series first made its debut for Nintendo's portable Game Boy and had many successful sequels thereafter, but why give the consoles the spin-offs and leave the actual series to handheld form. I mean why made Pokemon Snap on the Nintendo 64 when Nintendo should've made the whole Pokemon Gold and Silver complete in 3D for that console instead. Instead we get only spin-offs that used the Pokemon name like Pokemon Puzzle League(a Tetris Attack sequel), Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon Box, Pokemon Channel, Pokemon: Pikachu Genki De Chu, Pokemon XD, and now Pokemon Battle Revolution. I mean none of these Pokemon console titles have any quality to them at all and none really are that good either. Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal were great, but they are very limited. Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green are wonderful, but they too, are very limited. Then we had Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, they are a bit more advance than the rest, but still limited, why are they not N64 quality like Super Mario 64 DS was is the question we would like to ask Nintendo. When will we see a true console Pokemon RPG title?
Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD are two impressive Pokemon console RPG and battle game, but they play nothing like the portable games. If Nintendo's smart, they would've at least create Pokemon from scratch for the Wii and let players use the Wii remote to hold or throw Pokeball to catch Pokemon. How about making a console Pokemon game that actually let you become a Pokemon yourself on a mission to help trainers understand the importance of their existence or create a game as a trainer on a quest to catch, train and build up the strength of each Pokemon. The only thing we Pokemon fans want more from Nintendo is a good console Pokemon game not silly spin-offs titles using the Pokemon brand.
The handheld are great for it, put why not create a big online RPG adventure for the console that would've made a big splash? Even if they are meant to be pocket monsters, that doesn't mean they will stay small. The question now is that if Nintendo could bring their other franchises both from console to handheld and vice versa, why can't they bring this handheld phenomenon to console, I mean they did done a good job giving Kirby(first debut on the Game Boy) a console adventure so why not the Pokemon series as well and the same can be said about Golden Sun too(I'm talking about you Camelot).
