The Hulls Family Bookstore is the major outlet for religious Christmas Cards in Winnipeg city. Most of the Christmas cards this store carries are under the brand names of Lawson Sally and Day Spring. Located on Graham Street in the heart of Downtown Winnipeg, this store has been around for more than 80 years and is the place to go if you need anything Christian including Christmas cards. They carry individual and boxed cards with theme and verses based on the bible.
Hull's is a family owned and operated business serving Manitoba and northwestern Ontario with Christian books, Bibles, music, giftware, curricula, new media and Church supplies.
Winnipeg remains the headquarters of this establishment but there are Branches in Steinbach Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Winnipeg office has more than 11,000 sq. ft. retail space. This store has an inviting and clean atmosphere. The staff is friendly and polite without hovering over you. I always leave this store with a great uplifting feeling.
A Wing and a Prayer Heavenly Gifts store is located in the Shoppers Mall, on 18th Street, Brandon Manitoba, Winnipeg's second largest city. This store is a smaller counterpart to Hulls. It caters to religious paraphanalia including the real Christmas cards. They offer boxed as well as individual cards that are sure to please those who adhere to the Christian faith in a serious way and honor the birth of Jesus as the central focus of the season. The website for this store is under construction so if you should check it out on the internet you might be disappointed.
Aside from these specialty stores, one can still find limited quantities of your garden variety religious Christmas cards in Carleton Cards outlets. There are several locations of Carlton Cards all over the City of Winnipeg including in City Place on the ground floor, Portage Place Mall on the 2nd floor en route to The Bay, St. Vital Mall and Polo Park Malls. For the next few weeks the Carleton Cards outlets have a great deal on - buy three cards and get three free. Not bad.
For those who like to believe they are getting a bargain with their purchases - although I believe they don't - the Dollar stores around the city also carry very limited variety of religious Christmas cards.
But for the people who are looking for that special card with the right texture, words, looks and presentation in general, you cannot go wrong by checking out the specialty stores.
