Boston: December 31, 2008

Watch a 7:00 p.m. fireworks display on the Boston Common or wait for the midnight finale over the Boston Harbor. The first event is ideal for families, or anyone who wants to get home and relax.

Chattam: December 31, 2008

Chattam, Massachusetts has their own New Year's Eve 2008 countdown planned, cod style. The town of Chattam has a piece of sculpture, shaped like a cod, which will be hoisted up into the sky around quarter of midnight. They will lower it as part of their countdown, and start the fireworks at midnight.

Northampton: DDecember 31, 2008

The biggest First Night 2009 event west of Boston, and the most family-friendly First Night in the state, sets off their fireworks from the roof of the parking garage connected to Thornes Market. The garage is in the center of town and a good view can be had by all. The fireworks will be set off at 6:00 p.m.
