Where to Shop for Antiques in Geauga County, Northeast Ohio

Finding Antiques and Fun in Geauga County, Ohio

Lois Hewitt
Geauga County, Ohio, is located about 30 miles east of Cleveland. It is a rural county with the 4th largest settlement of Amish in the United States as well as farm land, fresh produce (when in season) and of course, antiques. There are many great places to find antiques in Geauga County, some of which I will name here, but keep in mind that there are a lot of little-known second-hand shops you may encounter along the way. Be prepared for the unexpected stop as some of the best finds can be found there.

I am going to start this tour at the furthest point south and move northward. Auntie's Antique Mall is located at 15567 Main Market Road (Rt. 422) in Parkman, Ohio. Auntie's boasts 14,000 square feet of antiques and collectables. I can attest to the fact, the space is jam packed with all kinds of wonderful goodies. You will find books, glassware, plates, magazines, posters, textiles, clocks, figurines and much more represented by over 100 dealers. Auntie's is open daily from 10 am until 5 pm (including Sunday). Plan to stay awhile; it will take some time to go through. You can all them at 440.548.5353 if you need more information.

Heading north into Middlefield, you will find Country Collections Antique Mall located at 15848 Nauvoo Road (just north of Middlefield Cheese). This lovely antique collection mall includes quilts, clocks, phonographs and collectables from over 30 different dealers. They also offer furniture. If you are lucky, you will get to hear the sounds of Amish buggies passing down Nauvoo. Country Collections is open seven days a week (Monday through Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm). Their phone number is 440.632.1712 for further information.

Please note that all the Amish shops are closed on Sundays and all major holidays. So please plan your trip accordingly.

Heading slightly west into Burton, Ohio you will find a much needed spot for a rest. That place is Coffee Corners Antiques and Coffee House located at 14544 Main Street. They are located just north of Burton Square. Here you will be able to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or specialty tea while you browse through their several antique-filled rooms. Enjoy the soothing sounds of big band music overhead, so relax and enjoy the experience. For more information, you can contact them at 440.834.0076. They are open Monday through Saturday 7 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 8 am until 5 pm.

Also in Burton, you will find Spring Street Antiques. They are located at 14531 Main Street (they are across the street from the coffee house). Here you will find period pieces, furniture, glass work, lighting, quilts and textiles. They are open from Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am until 5 pm and Sunday from 12 pm until 5 pm. You can reach them at 440.834.0155 for more information.

Heading north will take us to our final destination, Chardon, Ohio. Antiques on the Square is a gem for those looking for antiques. Located right on Chardon Square at 101 Main Street in a historic 1870s building you will find quality antiques including, but not limited to, furniture, glassware, jewelry, textiles, sports items and so much more. Antiques on the Square as been voted "Best Antiques" for 2 years by the local Fox TV channel. This year they are celebrating 24 years of business. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm and from 12 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. You can reach them at 440.286.1912 for more information.

While in Chardon, you may want to drive or walk over to Rosepointe Cottage Tea Room right off the square at 107 Center Street. There may not be antiques there, but it is a beautiful Victorian tea room and gift shop. You can have lunch or an afternoon tea, whichever suits your fancy. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm. Reservations are suggested, so please contact them at 440.285.8686.

I hope this has given you the urge to visit Geauga County and all the antiquing options that are available. Geauga County boasts several nice thrift stores also in Middlefield, Burton and Chardon. There is a little bit of everything to suit just about everyone. Come out and see what we have waiting for you!! Happy Travels!
