Where to Shop for Furniture and Home Furnishings in San Diego, California

Maria Palma
San Diego has many home furnishings stores to fit every style and budget imaginable. Whether your home decorating style is ultra chic and modern or down-to-earth country, you are sure to find home decor and furniture that you'll like. Here is just a sampling of some of the home decorating stores available in San Diego:

Z Gallerie Home Furnishings
Where: Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego - 611 5th Ave 619.696.8137
This Z Gallerie has a pretty good selection of wall art as well as decor for every room in your home. Many of the pieces are very unique and fashionably chic.

Ashley Furniture Homestore
Where: There are several locations in the San Diego area - San Marcos, the new store in Chula Vista, and the showroom on Miramar Road. You can't miss the showroom on Miramar Road because it is located in the "pyramid", the tallest structure in the area. What I like about Ashley Furniture is that they have interior designers that can help you create a plan for whatever room(s) you are decorating. They also have many furniture styles to choose from.

Ikea
Where: 2149 Fenton Parkway 619.563.4532
Ikea is the Disneyland of home decorating stores. One could spend several hours in this store browsing through the huge showroom. This is where you can find stylish and affordable furniture and home accessories. However, the best part about going to Ikea is the $1 hotdog and soda!

Mixture
Where: 2210 Kettner Blvd 619.239.4788
If you have a love for high-style and ultra modern design elements, then Mixture is the store for you. The store is located in the heart of Little Italy and they offer original art, interior design services, as well as custom furniture.

Special Areas to Shop for Furniture and Home Furnishings in San Diego

  • If you love antiques, then take a stroll down Girard Avenue or Prospect Street in downtown La Jolla. You will find small specialty shops filled with vintage treasures, Persian rugs, and high-end art
  • The Cedros Design District in Solana Beach also has many specialty home furnishing stores. This design district is also home to many unique art galleries and studios

There's no excuse not to have a stylishly decorated home in San Diego! With so many places to shop for furniture and home furnishings in San Diego, it's pretty easy to find what you are looking for. If you are in the process of decorating or redecorating your home, my advice would be to just simply take your time and buy only those things that you love!
