A Small Business You Can Trust

There are so many times when a person might avoid doing business with a local small-town business for fear of the jacked-up prices and inadequate service the business might provide because it's small. I admit there have been many times when my husband and I have ignored local businesses for just that reason. Sometimes a small town will lose valuable business because they are forced to charge more to be able to afford the taxes, building rent, and so on that can be higher in a small town.

The local business owners of ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More in Cass County, Texas have chosen a convenient, easy-access location for their go-karts and other recreational vehicles. Located on Cass County Highway 59N, ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More is a business that stands out. Their red building with the huge white letters and phone number are easy to spot even for the passersby who could miss most small businesses if they blinked while driving through the area. When you pass through on a major highway, you don't have time to read small print and will easily overlook a small building. This is often a source of frustration for someone who is trying to find something in a hurry, too. Having to squint and slow down can be a traffic hazard. That isn't a problem with ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More. The red color of their building is also a great landmark; and let's face it---red does indeed stand out in any landscaping scene.

The owner is a quiet-spoken, polite gentleman who is aware and respectful of his customer's desires. The customer desires someone who will listen to what they have to say. This is not a problem at ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More. These people have learned some secrets many store owners have yet to practice, even after being in business for many years. The customer hopes for someone who will not push them into undesirable territory just to shove a sale down their throat. I can't say how many times I've been into a business, be it big or small, and been immediately repulsed by the sales tactics. Eager to rush a decision, a salesman can descend upon a customer like a hungry vulture diving towards road-kill. Go-kart businesses are often no better than your car lots in this aspect. This business owner and his wife have learned the secrets of being good listeners, speaking quietly so as not to offend the ears, respecting the customer so that he or she is not offended by someone who acts like they're too stupid to comprehend and make their own choices, and allowing the customer to set the pace.

As a woman, I can testify to many times when I have been treated inferior at a business because I could not understand or did not know how to get the employees of the business to understand me. It's frustrating. Ok, maybe I don't know all the proper terminology of that particular business or situation, but what I do know is that my money and problems are just as important to me as the next guy's is to him (or her). Even if I have a problem getting my point across, I resent being made to feel like it's just because I'm female.

The owner, his wife, and his mechanic were kind, patient, and helpful. If I did not understand them, they would patiently explain in terms to which I could relate easily, never once making me feel like an idiot. If they thought so at any point, at least they did not convey these opinions to me in the way they responded or in their actions. They did not act eager to get rid of me, no matter how small the matter was that I felt needed to be addressed. They did not rush me so that they could get to the next customer who might spend more money. Does this sound counter-productive? Think about it for a moment. The way I see it, it's brilliant from a business view-point. They win a fan; a customer who will be eager to spread the good word about their experience. Word-of-mouth continues to be one of the very best advertisements a business can use. They win my respect. If I chose to buy any product similar to what they sell, I will be willing to return to them before trying out another business even if that business may seem cheaper on their prices. Sometimes you get what you pay for in a negative way in the long run. Cheaper now may mean disappointment later.

The mechanic at ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More in Cass County, Texas is also a delight with whom to do business. He is also a quiet-spoken gentleman who was very respectful and kind to me. Although he had also dealt with my husband and son, he did not treat me as though I were any less important just because I was not a man. He was very helpful and an good listener.

If I were to rate this business on a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being the best, I would happily give them a rating of 10. That's a big rating for someone selling go-karts, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, etc., especially in a small-towns county such as Cass.

The item my husband and I decided to purchase was a go-kart, also known as a dune buggy. It was an NST 150cc go kart with a padded roll-cage frame. This go-kart was a quality piece from the word go! Very well put together, priced affordable, and with a 6-month warranty, it has been a welcomed source of much-needed entertainment for our family. We took their advice and returned it to the shop after the break-in period. They finished the check-up and returned it promptly that afternoon. Granted, the return may not always be possible the same day (they do have only one mechanic), you have to ask.....would I want quality work or work that was rushed only to get me to shut-up and quit bothering the mechanic or quite possibly just to rush the next item to be repaired into the shop? There are some businesses that are so intent on returning the item to the customer that they miss important necessities and requests. ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More honored our requests and even repaired a flaw we had failed to notice.

The business also offers other items of interest to the recreational seeker as well as the property owner. The property owner might be interested in their 4x4 mini trucks. This is where the woman in me has to come forward and say, "They're just so darned cute!" I could have so much more fun helping my husband work in our yard and surrounding woodsy area if we had one of these. So, that is definitely a possible future purchase. Anyone who has trees on their property could benefit from this tough little vehicle. There are options such as a dump bed for hauling an ice chest, small equipment items, or brush you want to clear. It would be much nicer than pushing a heavily-loaded wheelbarrow! There is a flat bed mini truck, too, that might be helpful. These trucks are in the price range of $4800 to $6800.

As for the recreational seeker, there are the other dune buggies besides the one we purchased. In a range of 90cc to 800cc and a price range of $900 to $6500 and different colors, there should be one to peak your interests. Ours had a speedometer, gas gauge, horn, and headlights. Moving on, there are also dirt bikes from 70cc and up in prices ranging from $900 to $1300. Their RUV's range in price from $4400 to $5900. The motorcycles range from around $1500 to $5600 for the different sizes offered. They offer Hyasung financing and a 2 year warranty on their Hyasung bikes.

The ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More also have a supply of riding gloves, helmets, and such that usually come in a store of this kind.

If you're ever in the vicinity of Queen City, Texas travel over to Hwy 59 North and meet the wonderful people who own and manage ATVs, Dirt Bikes and More. Don't forget to shake the mechanic's hand while you're there.

Good review. Customer service is very important to me. It sounds like you won't mind going back for any repairs.
You should copy your article and let them see it. It certainly would be appreciated, I am sure.
