When planning your trip to Manhattan, do not forget to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. You will be doing plenty of walking, not only going from store to store, but in each store that you visit.
Some of the large department stores offer various restaurant choices. This is a great convenience, especially when you are busy shopping.
A shopping adventure to Manhattan is an experience you will always remember and cherish.
There are so many Manhattan shopping choices. The five stores listed below were chosen because they have lots to offer the customer and are true Manhattan landmarks.
My choices for the top five places to shop for holiday decorations in Manhattan are:
1. Macy's Herald Square
151 West 34th Street
New York, NY 10001
Website:www.macys.com
Phone Number:
212-695-4400
Store Hours:
Monday to Saturday: 10:00AM to 9:30PM
Sunday: 11:00AM to 8:30PM
Holiday decorations can be found on the 9th floor. Macy's calls the area "Holiday Lane". It is nice to look at all of the items offered for sale. Hopefully you will find something you want to buy and enjoy in your home. If you would like to reach "Holiday Lane" directly, call the store's main number and press 7 and when prompted dial extension 3409.
Holiday window displays are ready sometime in November. You can call the store for details.
Santa visits Macy's each year during holiday time. You can visit Santa on the 8th floor. Call the store for his exact arrival date. A visit to see Santa is a visit you always recall fondly. Macy's Herald Square is immortalized in the 1947 classic movie "Miracle on 34th Street" about a Macy's Santa.
Macy's offers visitors a "Welcome Savings Pass" that gives up to 11% savings in all Macy's stores for five days after validation. To receive your pass, you need to show proper ID and you must not reside in the 5 boroughs of New York City. In the Macy's Herald Square store the "Visitors Services" can be found in the 34th Street balcony area. For more information, call the store's main number and press 7 and when prompted dial extension 3827.
The following link also gives more information about "Visitors Services".
