Where to Get State & Federal Tax Forms in Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Tax season is coming up fast and it is time to start thinking about tax forms. If you are planning to file your taxes for yourself and are doing it with physical forms then it can sometimes be difficult to locate the ones you need. Here, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, there are several places that you can locate the forms you are looking for. While there may be other places than the ones I have listed, these are going to be the ones that you can locate forms at most easily. Keep in kind that you can also download federal tax forms for free from http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/. I have had a horrible time locating state tax forms in this area for the past few years. You can download or request copies of Mississippi State tax forms at http://www.mstc.state.ms.us/taxareas/individ/main.htm.

The local IRS office in Hattiesburg is located at 701 North Main St. Federal tax forms are available but will go fast as tax season approaches. They may be out of some of the more popular forms. This office also has free tax preparation for certain individuals who make less than $40,000 and/ or file EIC. This office is open Monday-Friday - 8:30 am.- 4:30 pm. (Closed for lunch 12:00 noon. - 1:00pm ) The phone number is (601) 264-7991.

The US Post Office carries most federal income tax forms but again, it is first come first served. The main post office is located at 115 W Pine St and the forms are located in the lobby which is open 24 hours. Another post office location is at 220 S 40th Ave. Again, the forms are in the lobby which is open 24 hours.

The Hattiesburg Public library, located at 329 Hardy St, has some forms available during tax season. The forms vary and are first come first served. Their hours are Monday - Thursday 8 am to 8 pm and Friday and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. You can also sometimes locate state tax forms here.

The Oak Grove library has tax forms as well. They are located at 4958 Old Highway 11 and their hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am - 6 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10 am - 7 pm and Saturday 9 am - 12 pm.

You can contact Hattiesburg City Hall at 601-545-4500 and ask for more locations or information about city offices that provide tax forms.
