Where There's a Will, There's a Way

It's Not Just a Fantasy

Kurt Evans
I know what you're going to say. You're going to say that I'm writing about a cliche. I have one thing to say about that, it is not only a cliche; it's truth at it's very best.

The reason I say that is because if you persevere at anything long enough, you're bound to succeed sooner or later. If you fail enough times doing something and discover all the ways that don't work; you are bound by the law of averages to succeed sometime, right? I say yes because I am forever the optimist. Granted, you may be on your death stone and hardly breathing when you achieve that success but, sooner or later you will arrive at the way that works.

Now, with all kidding aside; if you never give up on something, that means that you can never fail. Granted, there are stipulations and conditions that must be met. Notice that I said that you can never fail. Also, notice that I said that you never give up.

There you have it in a nutshell, plain and simple; isn't it? Not so fast. Let me explain.

The process of learning is different for everyone. Some people learn best by reading a lot of information in books. Some people learn best by experiencing things in the real world. So, people learn best by a combination of both. Whatever your learning style is, part of knowing your self; is knowing what your learning style is.

As human beings, we all experience a vast array of emotions and how we respond to things affects our outcomes. We all want to be successful, naturally; everybody wants that. But, we are all on different paths as individuals. There is not a single one of us that is exactly the same. Even twins are different. Everybody has a different perspective and responds differently to everything.

So, it's safe to say that we are all on different paths. One of my hopes is, that we will all be kind to each other as we cross each other's paths along the way.

If you are bound and determined to get something that you really want, that means that you will go through whatever you need to do in order to honestly get it according to whatever your inner values are. I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about. When I was young and had gotten hit by a car, I went through years of physical therapy, afterwards. When they put me on the floor and told me to go to my mom on the other side of the room, I used any means necessary in order to get there. I crawled, rolled, shot myself across the room however I could in order to get there.

When you have something that you are truly motivated to get, you will get it; if, you put in the work necessary.

If you are working towards something that you are having trouble attaining; you always have to ask yourself if it is something that you really want. If it's not something you really want, you might not be willing to put in the work in order to get it.

This is an easy way to look at things but it requires a few things out of you, the individual:

1. Know yourself

2. Know what you want

3. Know yourself

4. Know where you're going

5. Know yourself

6. Know yourself

7. Know yourself

8. Know yourself

9. Know yourself

10.Know yourself

Sometimes this process is harder for some than for others. Some people have been told what to do and think their entire lives. If that is the case, it will be necessary to get to know yourself and what you really want. Here are some things that you can look at in order to figure that out.

1. What do you pay attention to?

2. What entertains you?

3. What fascinates you?

4. What do you want to know?

5. What kind of things do you want to see done in different areas of your life?

6. Are you willing to accept total responsibility for your own actions?

7. If you don't control you, who does?

8. What do you daydream about?

9. What do you dream about?

10.What are your hopes, dreams, and aspirations?

11.What are you most proud of?

12.What are you least proud of?

13.What are you embarrassed by?

14.What makes you laugh?

15.What makes you cry?

These questions are all geared to get you to feel more comfortable with yourself. There is also another point that I would like to talk about, and that's learning how to trust yourself and your decisions. A lot of this requires experience and experience is nothing more but, trial and error.

Learning what works and what doesn't work, is a lifelong process. I don't think there is a person in the world that knows everything. So, don't be hard on yourself if you're not perfect.
