Where Are Video Games Headed?

R. Hill
Video game rental 123 is asking the question, if you like violent games what's in it for those that don't? If you want to play religious games, who will be the manager of those type of games? What about political games for things happening all over the world. Who will monitor the video game craze of today, because a few years ago a game called postal was banned from the computer gaming industry, the makers took a real time event or type of events and put them on a game console and made the killing people a postal person going as they said back then "Postal."

The Youth and Mind Games

Are we desensitizing our youth by allowing them to interact with violent video games? Will they car jack someone and beat someone up on the street just because they can do it in a video game and get away with it, how far are we going to go. One video game has a rouge police officer running down the street chasing people sticking guns in their face, and robbing people for money. Is this what we are exposing are kids too, to get them to stop snitching as they say in the music industry. These games are making officers out to be bad and the criminals good. Have you ever stood next to a kid and they say here comes the Po Po (Police) in slang. Wow what have we created as adults to allow the innocents of youth to be taken away by video games. Parents now days you have to watch your kids playing video games because you never know what secret code they will discover that will allow them to grow up fast.

Religious Games

Imagine creating a video game to display the history of your religious background and all the wars and battles that have taken place over the years. You have just started a game that will create turmoil thru out the world and make you a wanted person in most countries that oppose your religious beliefs. Could you have a Christian themed game, or how about a Muslim game, the hatred that would be brought about thru these games would set a new precedent in the gaming industry. Well there are games coming out that will challenge the thought process of religious goers in the world.

Political Games

On the market today there are political games out there that are being thought of as role playing games one such game is axis and allies, another is real war. These games use the color of red and blue to symbolize the good and bad, well we all know that the Soviet Union was always consider red and the USA was considered the blue. Some of these games are awesome when it comes to graphics and real time events. There are more games that are coming out on-line, and in stores. Try picking up the latest copy of Rainbow 6, Call of Duty, and Medal of Honor. Remember video game rental 123 is just asking the question.
