The Tacoma Rescue Mission is one of the largest organizations serving the homeless in the Tacoma area. They have several locations throughout the city and many, many volunteer opportunities. Whatever your talents and skills may be, there is a place for your at the Tacoma Rescue Mission. You may find yourself serving food, providing childcare, teaching a class at the family shelter, tutoring kids or using your musical talent to play at a special holiday event.
To get started volunteering at the Tacoma Rescue Mission you'll need to fill out a Volunteer Form where you'll give your basic information, let them know what areas interest you most and give permission for them to run a background check on your if needed. Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank
Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank serves the needy families in East and South Tacoma. They provide over 40,000 pounds of food to 1000 people on a weekly basis. Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank is looking for volunteers who can help with sorting food donations, handing out food three times a week and making deliveries to seniors. Catholic Community Services of Western Washington
Catholic Community Services is an organization that provides shelter and other services to the homeless of Tacoma, WA. There are many volunteer opportunities available through Catholic Community Services. They always need people to help in the offices with filing and answering phones, drivers, foster grandparents and volunteers to assist the elderly and disabled adults with basic tasks and chores.
