How to locate your voting location
Voting is a wonderful opportunity to have your voice heard. It is the ultimate in free expression.
Max O'Well encourages all eligible Americans to exercise their right to vote this year.
Early Voting is over. I you missed out you still have tomorrow November 4th.
Voting is from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Please arrive early if possible as the turnout may be significant.
The first link at the end of this article will take you to a voter lookup provided by the NC State Board of Elections.
The "Voter Lookup" will show all registered voters where they are supposed to vote.
If you registered and are not on the voter lookup you need to call the number below. You may still be able to cast a provisional ballot. If they resolve your information it counts just like every other ballot.
The NC State Board of Elections is located at:
North Carolina State Board of Elections
506 North Harrington Street
Raleigh, NC 27603
Telephone (919) 733-7173
New voters should bring appropriate identification with them. Check the second link for documents you may want to bring. (If you registered this year you are a NEW Voter)
Independent of which side you take in the election, it is important that you express yourself through the vote. Since we were attacked in 2001, our troops have been fighting and dying to give the people of Afghanistan and Iraq the right to self determination. We can do nothing less than express our support and gratitude for our troops by going to the polls this year. Max has had numerous family members, both men and women, fighting in the two wars and off the coast of Iran. They are Democrats, Republicans and Independents. They are also true Americans that have given their all so that we can vote this year in a safe America.
North Carolina State Board of Elections is doing an outstanding job of coordinating this election and making it possible for all citizens of NC who are eligible to vote in 2008. The people who check our names, manage out ballots and give us those neat "I Voted" tags are doing us a wonderful service.
Max was personally pleased to see the early voting sites had people who came out to handicapped people and allowed them to vote as they arrived. This is one of the special touches that could be seen in Wake County that demonstrates the commitment of the North Carolina Board of Elections to the process of democracy in this wonderful state.
Max O'Well (my pseudo person) writes articles about greenways, gardens, arboretums and attractions in NC. He occasionally writes about efforts to deal with diseases and about attractions in Maine and Florida.
