United States of America
There are many DNC Convention Watch Parties going on across America. On Thursday, August 28, 2008, a lot more people will be hosting a party to watch Barack Obama accept the nomination as the Democratic candidate for president.

The Democratic Club of the Santa Clarita Valley
If you are going to be in the Santa Clarita area on Thursday, join The Democratic Club of the Santa Clarita Valley as they hold a "Get Out of the House and Make a Joyful Noise: DNC & Obama Watch Party" to watch the democratic presumptive nominee Barack Obama make his acceptance speech starting at 5:00PM.
This historical event is open to the whole family, so children and adults are invited to come to celebrate Obama's acceptance speech. It will be held at the Lamp Post Pizza which is located at 27661 Bouquet Canyon road in Santa Clarita, California. The phone number to that location is 661-297-7092. You can visit them online at www.lamppostpizzascv.com for more information or direction. The restaurant is owned by a democrat. Located in the Saugus vicinity of the Santa Clarita Valley, it houses 4 widescreen televisions, serves plenty to eat and drink including "audacity pizza & spaghetti, fired up and ready to go pizza, open face and change you can believe in sandwiches," various "hope wines and specialty be the change beers and soft drinks." They also have play cards, board games, and video games for children. They want you to come and play "checkers with us instead of watching the acceptance speech at home alone."

You are encouraged to come and share this memorable experience with your children and grand children. And if you have your eyes on running for a public office in the future, you are triply encouraged to attend. You don't have to be a democrat to attend, just come with your enthusiasm, along with tambourines and drums! You can call Mike Cruz, the vice president at 818-269-1902 for more info or to get involved. The club's local site is http://www.scvdems.org or their calendar can be accessed at http://www.scvyoungdems.org/ . You can also call Todd and Minerva Hoover at 661-295-9318. The cost for this event if free, but you buy your own audacity pizza...

USC Annenberg School of Communication
If you are in the Los Angeles area, then head on to USC Annenberg School of Communication. Along with the Center on Communication Leadership, and the USC Unruh Institute of Politics, the school cordially invites students of USC and faculty and friends to watch Obama's acceptance speech. The location will be at the Annenberg East Lobby beginning at 6:00PM. Professors Geoffrey Cowan and Tom Hollihan, along with Dan Schnur who directs the Unruh Institute and who formerly directed John McCain's communications will be there to discuss and dissect political speeches and the media involvement in the 2008 election. The cost is free and refreshments will be provided. Visit online at http://annenberg.usc.edu/Events/2008/080828ConvWatch.aspx for more information.
