Where to Watch Free Family Guy Episodes Online

The Best Places on the 'Net for Family Guy and Other Irreverent Cartoons

Lauren Vork
Gentle readers, I have a confession to make. Like nearly everyone else I talk to these days (it seems) I am a certified Family Guy addict. This clever, shockingly irreverent, and uniquely hilarious little creation of Seth McFarlane's has captured my...well, it doesn't seem quite right to say it's captured my heart, but whatever it's captured, I'm utterly hooked on Family Guy.

The one little problem with my addition, however, is this: I don't own a television set, or have cable. Don't ask me why, as it's a long story, but I don't intend on getting either of these any time soon. So in order to feed the monkey of my Family Guy addiction, I have to turn to man's best friend, the internet.

I've recently discovered that it is possible to watch whole Family Guy episodes for free, legally, through several of the sites for the networks that run the show. This is because many television stations have finally started to pony up to the reality that yes, people are watching shows through the internet and that they will seriously start to lose advertising dollars if they don't put up episodes, with ads, for people to watch on-line.

The best place on-line to watch Family Guy is, unsurprisingly, fox.com. They have the last three or four new episodes available for streaming view (or the most recent re-runs that have been run during the regular featured time), and the quality is pretty good. You'll have to watch a commercial (just one, repeated several times, which gets annoying), but you can watch an episode whenever you want, as many times as you like for free. On this site, you can also catch full eps of Family Guy's sister show, American Dad.

The next best place for your Family Guy fix is tbs.com. You will also find full episodes available for viewing here, but they won't be the same ones as on fox.com. Instead, there's a selection of a handful of episodes taken from various seasons, which is updated about once a week. Again, you can watch as many times as you like. You can also watch tons of compilations of Family Guy clips on this site as well, including "best of" montages that focus on the individual characters.

The other station that runs Family Guy is Cartoon Network, but they don't have full episodes on their site. Like tbs.com, they have many entertaining clip montages to keep you happy, and they do have several of their other Adult Swim shows available in full-episode form, such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Moral Orel, and Harvey Birdman.

Still not enough Family Guy? Well, people used to put illegal full episodes of the show on YouTube, but Fox eventually cracked down on that. However, you can still find hundreds of clip compilations on this site, as well as fan tributes and music videos.

However, by the time you're watching fan-made Family Guy tribute videos on YouTube, it might be time to admit that you have a problem...
