Where Water Flows

Sandra Essary
Burdened by trouble,
Saddened by loss,
I sought out a river;
Sat on a rock covered with moss.

I sought out a creek,
And sat in silence;
My head hung down,
Inside I was tense.

The water glistened brightly,
Water tumbled o'er rocks,
And briefly I caught
A glimpse of a fox.

Listening to the water,
My spirit did ease;
I heard birds high above
Chirping in trees.

In nature I healed;
My soul did renew;
I could go back, face people
And take whate'er life threw.

    Set this to music! For some reason I can hear Judy Collins singing this. :) Great poem!
