If you enjoyed the melancholy movie, or are just a fan of the playful, emotionally rich music that served as it's backdrop, you may want to take a look at the "Where the Wild Things Are" soundtrack song list. Reviews of the movie were mixed, but the music is memorable on its own. So even if your friends panned the flick, you should still give the "Where the Wild Things Are" soundtrack a listen for yourself.
  1. Igloo. All but one song on the "Where the Wild Things Are" Soundtrack Song List are performed by "Karen O and the Kids", including this one. This is bouncy and playful little tune, full of childlike wonder.
  2. All Is Love. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". A free and breezy little folk tune, which ruminates on the simple complexity of love.
  3. Capsize. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". A harsher tune with a decidedly rock feel to it. Angry little song about running away from it all.
  4. Worried Shoes. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". A sad little tune reflects on the worries we all face and, maybe, escape.
  5. Rumpus. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". A free-for-all song with a decidedly tribal beat.
  6. Rumpus Reprise. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids".The rumpus slows to a stroll.
  7. Hideaway. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". The "relationship" song of the bunch. Sad and sweet.
  8. Cliffs. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". Folky and ethereal.
  9. Animal. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". Rumbles like an old school Johnny Cash song. Wildly rhythmic.
  10. Lost Fur. The one song on the "Where the Wild Things Are" Soundtrack song list credited to Carter Burwell. A very bare-bones instrumental piece that is as beautiful as it is sad.
  11. Heads Up. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". Happy little toe tapper.
  12. Building All Is Love. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". Revisits the earlier tune, but feels a little desperate. Hard to hold on to love.
  13. Food Is Still Hot. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". Hummed instrumental that feels like a daydream.
  14. Sailing Home. Performed by "Karen O and the Kids". This final piece on the "Where the Wild Things Are" Soundtrack song list is an upbeat tune that races to the end.

great review. the movie did have a different feel to it then the book, but we still ended up getting the dvd for the kids and they enjoy watching it every so often. The soundtrack does seem pretty cool.
