Which Bachelorette Will Make the Best Mom for the Bachelor's Son, Ty?

This Season of the Bachelor Has Been like a Long-Running Soap Opera

I admit it. The Bachelor television show on ABC is my guilty pleasure. I don't watch the program with a feeling of envy because after all, I've been happily married myself for eighteen years. I tend to watch because I know that after the cameras stop rolling, when the cast and crew return from exotic locations around the world, and when incredibly romantic one-on-one dates come to an end, reality will strike. Marriage involves constant nurturing, hard work and compromise. Will one of this season's bachelorettes be able to handle the daily pressures of being a mother to Jason Mesnick's 4-year-old son?

This season of the Bachelor has been like a long-running soap opera. First, Deanna Pappas was rejected a few seasons ago, but was chosen to come back to star as The Bachelorette. Enter Jason Mesnick, a 31 handsome single Dad from Seattle. It all came down to Jason and Jesse, a free-spirited ski instructor. Jason was left heartbroken and wondering how he misjudged DeAnna's heart when she chose Jesse, the rebel.

Fast forward to this season of The Bachelor. Jason is back as The Bachelor. During the course of the season, he has whittled down his choices of 25 gorgeous bachelorettes to just two women, Molly from Milwaukee and Melissa from Texas. Of the two remaining bachelorettes, I believe that Jason will choose Melissa for several reasons. She is petite, gorgeous and effervescent. When Jason and Melissa look at each other, the fireworks are apparent. Molly seems like a very nice person, but I think she is too conservative and reserved for Jason, despite their romantic camping date. I don't think the chemistry between Jason and Molly is quite as electric and explosive as it is between he and Melissa.

However, who would make a better Mom for Jason's adorable son, Ty? Again, I think Melissa is my choice here because she is bubbly, charming, and wants to become a first grade teacher. I think Molly is just too stiff to have an all-out water gun fight in the middle of a public park.

...So my prediction for Jason's choice is Melissa, the 25-year-old sales rep from Texas.

...However, it looks like DeAnna comes back tonight to plead with poor Jason, and to tearfully explain to him that she made a mistake. My advice to Jason, don't give into her tears. She broke your heart once, and she'll do it again. Pick Melissa, provide a good Mom for Ty, and go live happily ever after.
