LISA
For generations is has been disputed whether tea or coffee is actually best for your health. While both have been around for many generations each has it's own value. In general we have learned to question beverages with caffeine causing many to veer toward Tea's and other beverages for refreshment. However over the last few decades scientists have researched the health benefits of both coffee and tea with some astonishing results.

Tea-Results at a glance:

Enjoying the beverage of Tea has been something shared in many cultures for generations. But what benefits can tea bring to your health has also been debated for several decades. Tea is known to possess anti-oxidants which is said to have several health benefits. However the scientific research studies have showed little evidence that drinking these tea's will yield all the benefits claimed.

According to the FDA or the Food and Drug Administration the studies have not shown great deal of evidence in the link between Green Tea and health benefits. The FDA says quote "Green Tea shows promise in benefits of Cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's, and as a potential Cancer Protector".

Other debates of Green Tea's are it lowers cholesterol [LDL] levels, it reduces glyclose levels for diabetics, and it add to diabetes type 2 prevention. Additionally some have claimed that the Epigallocatechin 3 Gallate or [EGCG] in the Green Tea's have reduced the size of tumors in mice, but according to the FDA the results didn't show enough evidence.

Coffee- Good Health?

Studies on benefits of coffee have been more widely noted. One Harvard study that was conducted included over 126,000 people over a 18year period. The study proved that drinking 6 or more cups of coffee a day can reduce men's risk of diabetes type 2 by 54% and reduce a woman's risk by 30%. Since that study they have conducted more than 19,000 studies on the benefits of coffee and while they state that more testing needs to be done before any official claims are made there is a strong basis for health benefits for all coffee lovers!

Coffee Vs. Tea?

So when it comes to coffee or tea the health benefits are up in the air. The health benefits of Tea is definitely more well known. However it clearly shows more research is needed to prove the results of Green Tea, and Black teas on our health. When it comes to coffee while the results are not as widely known they are definitely closer to proving the results and for coffee lovers that's a plus!
