Which Herbs Help You Stop Smoking?

My Report on Some Stop Smoking Herbs as I Try to Drop My Nicotine Habit

Jim Posey
It's virtually universally known that smoking cigarettes is bad for you. Some people have had their limbs cut off because of the cutoff of oxygen cause by increased blood pressure over a sustained time. The nicotine and chemical wreck your body from the inside out and everyday you pull the trigger. Obviously, it's better never to have started the awful habit, but then there are people like me who have started and are now on the smoking train slowly awaiting our stop at cancer station.

In my ever increasing effort to try to get of the smoking train I have tried some whacky stuff to quit smoking, the least of which is more smoking! The idea behind smoke free herbs is that it gives you a smoke that is easier on your lungs and you're not getting your nicotine fix. However, you are still satiating the feeling of smoking. This won't work for everybody it depend what kind of smoker you are. I am more about the act of smoking rather than necessarily getting a nicotine fix.

The first substance that I rolled into a cigarette is Lobelia. I do mean rolled because I could not seem to find where you can buy the pre rolled variety. When smoking this lovely smelling herb it is immediately evident that it tastes better than tobacco. I read that it was used to treat whooping cough, bronchitis, and other repertory diseases back in the day. Another claim with Lobelia is that it makes the taste of tobacco yucky. This is kind of true, but only in comparison to smoking Lobelia. Has some of the same effects of nicotine which is a plus but you will still have your old craving. It is definitely a stop smoking herb worth its money, however.

Another stop smoking herb I tried was coltsfoot. Coltsfoot isn't necessarily able to stop the cravings of smoking but what it does is make you cough like you were fourteen again. This clears your lungs of some nasty tobacco tar stuff. It also makes putting anything burning to your lips sends you into a Nam style flashback of coughing your lungs out.

My venture with stop smoking herbs has been a fun one. I would have to say that I probably would not be buying coltsfoot again. It was fine to experience once but too intense for a regular treatment. I and Lobelia have been getting along famously, however.
