To listen to him and his supporters he is the man for our times...the modern era Churchill, FDR & Reagan all rolled into one. Yet when we read his own words in his books and the things he is on tape saying, he is certainly not who his supporters tell us he is. He is truly more Groucho than Karl. The only thing missing is the mustache and cigar. His retinue of miscreants - Zeppo, Chico and Harpo - are firmly installed in the Justice Dept., at Treasury and the EPA. Oh yeah, and Homeland Security, Health and Human Services..., well, you get my drift.
Just like in a Marx Brother's movie the world around them trips, falls and crashes but the Marx Brother's themselves are having a blast. Disorder is their way. Confusion is their tool. Complete upheaval their goal. So, how is Groucho, errrr, I mean Barack doing?
For the record I think I prefer Groucho as Obama's ideological inspiration. At least I understand Groucho and all his foolishness. Grouch is a clever idiot and only a tiny few besides his ever faithful brothers support his insane concepts, so yeah, a lot like Obama. Only a fellow sycophant could find much virtue in anything our own 21st Century Marx Brother would advocate for.
And like Groucho, the unaffected observer finds Obama's antics to be hilarious! Problem is when it comes to Americans there are damned few who are "unaffected observers." See when one hands the keys of the kingdom to Groucho Marx, well insanity and mayhem abounds, no? And as we fellow Americans bear the brunt of his asinine antics the humor soon loses its sway.
It's really as if we are the hotel owners and Groucho Obama and his family have set up residence in our formerly esteemed concern. Now we are a jumble of idiotic actions. Things are being wrecked all around us and the Marx Brothers are not only fine with it, but it seems to be their goal as clearly everything they touch turns to chaos. Our president, Hugo Z. Hackenbush is good with all of it...it's almost as if it's what he is intending.
Basically folks I think all we can do is sit back and laugh...crying is so undignified, called for but undignified. Just hold on friends. Hopefully this movie ends in less than two years. Then maybe in hindsight it will at least be somewhat amusing. Ya know, like after ya almost get hit by a fast moving Chevy and when the danger passes a nervous and involuntary laughter emerges? Yeah, like that.

Well, Donald already took my favorite Groucho quote. So here's my second favorite quote from the master: "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."
very good
Just had to read this one again. I may not be a Republican, but I'll never be a Democrat
You hit the nail on the head with this analogy! Groucho it is.
You might be on to something. I know I laugh each time I see that bumbling clown on television reading words another person wrote. I am, of course, talking about Obama, not Groucho.
I go with Groucho. It's an apt analogy. Although I really liked Groucho. Can't say the same for the analogous one.
ZING! OUCH! HA! Awesome! But neither Karl Marx, nor Obama ever said anything as cool as Groucho. "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."
