Larger engines make snowmobiles heavier and that could be a negative aspect. Because of the weight these snowmobiles are harder in loading and unloading. If you are new at the game it is a good idea to go for less horsepower. When rookies use machines with a lot of horsepower they are very eager to find out how fast is fast.

Also study all modification options when you buy a snowmobile. If you find the machine you want but maybe want to make a few changes, you have to check out if making those changes is even a possibility. You have to set some priorities. Is it more important to have a fast machine or one that has less horsepower but is easier to use.
