The remake of the new "We Are the World" for Haiti was recorded yesterday. Which stars were there?

The official list isn't out yet, but CNN is confirming a few.

Smokey Robinson told CNN that there were 100 stars included in the recording, and that none of them were part of the first "We Are the World" in 1985.

Confirmed singers on the "We Are the World" for Haiti are country duo Sugarland, Julianne Hough, Rob Thomas, Anthony Hamilton, Jason Mraz, Fergie, Usher and Carrie Underwood.

Mylie Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Kanye West, the Jonas Brothers and Keith Urban are rumored to be part of the group. Other possible performers are Barbra Streisand, Vince Vaughn, Snoop Dogg, Josh Groban, Lady Gaga and Pink.

That's quite a group.

There are also rumored to have been green screen placeholders at the filming of the "We Are the World" for Haiti. Some suggest that it might be for members of the group who could not stay for the whole sessions. Others expect to see Michael Jackson or another iconic figure added into the mix.

"We Are the World" for Haiti comes on the 25th Anniversary of "We Are the World" for Africa. The original song was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie and raised about $10 million to help feed the hungry in Africa.

"We Are the World" from 1985 included stars such as Billy Joel, Cyndi Lauper, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Daryl Hall, Huey Lewis, Michael Jackson and others.

The lyrics and music for Haiti's "We Are the World" are supposed to have been updated to give them a more modern sound. No one is saying right now how close the new song might be to the original.

While Hollywood types are known for their excessive lifestyles rather than a giving attitude, this recording is expected to raise a lot of money for Haitian earthquake victims. Haiti was a country drowning in poverty before the earthquake hit, and now it has become a chaotic disaster.

There is no word yet on when the recording will be available, but look for it soon.
