As a Christian, I try to be a good steward. Jesus talked about money a lot and I try to be thrifty and spend wisely without sacrificing quality. I'm a strict believer in "A penny saved is a penny earned."
My daughter was amazed when I went over her shopping list with her. By choosing wisely, I saved her nearly twenty dollars; which meant her that husband would've had to work about two hours longer to pay for such unnecessary spending.
When we got around to toilet tissue, I told her that at first glance, Scott toilet tissue may appear to be more expensive. But when you compare how long it lasts to what you're currently using, it is undoubtedly the better buy.
If you believe you're getting your money's worth with the brand of toilet paper you're buying, you may be surprised when you compare your current brand to Scott for a week or two. I did, and it was one of the smartest decisions I'd ever made.
Do you find yourself incessantly putting a new roll of toilet paper on the holder? Are you routinely including toilet paper on your shopping list? Scott toilet tissue lasts much longer. If you have to purchase twice as much of your regular brand compared to Scott toilet tissue, what are you saving? Could you actually be paying more?
What about softness? Scott toilet tissue is soft, but not so much that it swells up, clogging your pipes and septic tank. Those with personal health problems such as hemorrhoids, want the softest paper they can find, and they don't mind paying for it. If you don't have those kinds of health problems, why pay extra for bulky, thick toilet paper?
There are several brands of toilet paper that are full of softness, but usually, you will go through at least two rolls of those before going through one roll of Scott. Changing the roll twice as much, you have to buy twice as much. Therefore, Scott toilet tissue is cheaper in the long-run and the most practical.
With simple arithmetic, you can see how many sheets per roll you get with your current brand, compared to Scott toilet tissue. The next time you are at the market, read the labels and do the math. An elementary school student could see the difference.
If you have health issues requiring bulky, thick toilet tissue or just prefer it and don't mind the extra expense, I'm sure your current brand is a good choice. However, if you are looking for a good quality toilet tissue at a sensible price, Scott is the best choice. Once you realize the quality, discover how long it lasts, not having to change or shop for it as often, you will see. Scott toilet tissue is truly, "common sense on a roll."
