Top 10 Las Vegas Pools

Las Vegas offers something that many cities across the country do not, dessert temperatures. During the summer months, there is no better way to cool down than by visiting one of the Las Vegas cooling pools. The pools in our list of the tops pools range from those that are best for relaxing to those that are good for showing off your greatest assets... your swimsuit.

1. Mandalay Bay - The reason that the Mandalay Bay pool makes the top of the list is because of its huge wave pool. They do not allow you to use any type of bogie board or surfboard, but it is the perfect place to hang ten doing some body surfing. This is perfect for the entire family. Another wonderful thing about this place is the sandy beach that makes you forget that you are in the middle of the desert, at least four hours away from the nearest ocean. Last but not least, for those that would prefer to relax in the water as opposed to their lounger is the Lazy River. This moving body of water that circles an area is one of the best assets to this resort.

2. Hard Rock Hotel - This hotel is strictly there for the tons of people that choose to display their bodies for those to see. It is the pool that everyone that is looking to party with everyone else will be. They sponsor some big pool parties during the year. Thus, if you are not into being there to be ogled and not into big crowds, make sure you check into what is going on at the hotel during the time of your trip. If you do go, enjoy the swim-up blackjack tables that are on site.

3. Palms Hotel - This one just like the Hard Rock is a place for ogling and being ogled. The crowd is definitely younger and is one of the many hotel pools you are likely to catch your favorite Hollywood start lounging by the pool. This one is also known for their availability of private cabanas to enjoy your pool day.

4. Flamingo Hotel - This is one of the old hotels that still exist on the strip, but the pool area is still an attraction in itself. With its 150-foot water slide as its main attraction, it is an enjoyable attraction to everyone who is a guest. Among another plus is the 80 foot heated pool, which allows many to swim when the temperature dip a little lower than those in the summertime. There are also plenty of decorative ponds that make for photo ops, different from that of the bright lights of the strip.

5. Bellagio Hotel - The pool at the Bellagio itself is not much to brag about. However, it is the gardens and landscaping that makes it one of the ones that I love. Due to the clientele that the hotel caters to, you will find that the crowd that relaxes by the pool is a lot more laid back and an older more subdued crowd. This is another one with good drink service.

6. Caesars Hotel - With its Roman theme, Caesars' pool is a fun spot. One of the best aspects of it is the fountains that you get to play around in. You cannot beat that with a stick.

7. Tropicana Hotel - Though this is an older spot, you can rest assured that the swim up blackjack bars will keep you coming back for more. The breathtaking landscaping makes this a wonderful place to step away for the hustle and bustle of the casino floor.

8. MGM Grand Hotel - This place has too many pools to name. It also features a lazy river ride, but not quite along the lines as that of its competition down the street at the Mandalay Bay. Three whirlpool tubs allow you to relax those tried muscles from the many trips up and down the strip. This is such an enjoyable place that you might just find yourself spending your entire trip right here. Another good thing is that there are plenty of loungers for you not to have to get up at dawn to secure your spot.

9. Venetian Hotel - This one is not on the list for anything that has to do with the pool. This pool also offers great and frequent drink service. It is also a spot to be seen. There are plenty of bikini-clad bodies to watch, if that is what you are into.

10. The Golden Nugget - To be one of the oldest hotels that is still a gem in this city, The Golden Nugget's swimming pool is better than many of it's counterparts on the strip. It is only one of two pools offered in downtown Las Vegas, and features a saltwater tank complete with sharks. For those who like an adventure, take a spin in the clear water slide that moves you along and through the shark-filled tank.
