Which XBOX 360 System is Right for You?

How Much of a Gamer Are You?

So your finally taking the plunge into the next generation of video games you've decided upon the XBOX 360, but which one do you want to go with? Microsoft decided to give everyone a choice this time around depending on what his or her gaming preferences are.

You can go all in and get the elite bundle, which is mainly for the hardcore gamers, or you can go casual for those who enjoy the occasional video game every now and then. With this guide, I'll break down what you get with each bundle.

For any casual person out there that doesn't play a whole lot of video games, then the XBOX 360 Core bundle is your choice. The price on all the systems was cut around $20 - $50 so the core bundle will run you around $279.99 now. With the core bundle, you pretty much just get the bare essentials and nothing more. You will get no hard drive so you will have to get a memory card at some point.

You won't be getting any HD cables for your TV, which should only pertain to anyone with an HDTV. You will get wired controllers instead of wireless and no headset for online play. Like stated, this is pretty much the bare bones bundle for anyone just looking to play some games every now and then.

Next up is the XBOX 360 Premium bundle and this retails for around $349.00 after the price drop. This bundle is pretty much for the regular gamers out there and you get a good setup with the Premium bundle. You get the 20GB hard drive so you won't be needing any memory cards to save your progress. You will be getting a wireless controller, which comes with two double A batteries to get you going.

You will also get a headset for online play and an Ethernet cable to hookup for online play. You also get the HD cables for your TV, which can be used, on normal TV's and HDTV's. The next generation systems were made for HDTV's so at some point you should check into getting one even though games still look really good on normal TV's.

The latest edition to the XBOX 360 lineup is the Elite bundle. This is the best bundle that you can get and retails for around $479.99 right now. Over time this might get a price drop but it's stuck around then right now. With the Elite bundle, you get a 120GB hard drive which is a ridiculous amount of space but it's good for downloading movies, TV shows, game content and saving your data.

The Elite system is all black and so are the controllers, which adds a new look to it. You will also get HDMI support from the XBOX 360, which is basically just another form of HD hookup to your HDTV if you have one. The newer XBOX 360's were suppose to be sporting quiet disc drives but I'm not sure if this is true or not for the Elite bundle.

The choice is all completely based on how many video games you play plus how much money your wanting to spend. The best buy of the three would definitely be the Premium bundle since you get all the essentials and some more goodies as well. The hard drive is your best friend and you will need one if you plan on playing on XBOX LIVE for online play.
