Tuscany's Coffee House is a new one located at 3905 South 1st Street. They have a large assortment of cold and hot coffees that rival Starbucks offerings any day! They also serve sandwiches and salads that are to die for! The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. You feel as if you have stepped into a local Tuscan villa complete with a huge stone fireplace, overstuffed chairs, and family atmosphere! There is a book shelf to find something to read while you munch. Local enetertainment is brought it several times a week in the evening. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very large! You can contact them at 325-676-2326 for times and daily specials.
Mezamiz and Mezamiz Deux have been long time favorites here in Abilene. They have an "artsy" atmosphere that attracts college students and young hipsters. Even an old lady like me has been known to bring a book, get a mocha, and curl up in a wingchair to relax and read. Perched on the edge of a stone lined creek, the outside patio has a breathtaking view! Original works of art from local artisits cover the walls and are available for purchase. Other artistic and culinary offerings are available in a small gift shop near the front entrance. They have a slightly smaller selection of coffee treats - but equally delicious! They also serve a limited selection of sandwiches and other sweet treats. You can contact them at 325-692-3831 for times and daily specials. A meeting room for groups events is available.
Monks Coffee Shop is located downtown at 233 Cypress Street. They offer a nice adult atmosphere that doesn't seem to attract as man college students as Mezamiz does. Some times you just want to sit and have a nice lunch without all the chatter and motion - right? They have a nice selection of coffee and even sandwiches and salads. Sweet treats for desert are also on the menu. Paninni sandwiches are one of their specialties! You can contact them at 325-437-2984 for times and daily specials.
