While Your Were Sleeping: A World Crisis

Valerie Desilets
While you were sleeping, Americans were dreaming the American Dream, and the rest of the world was consumed in a nightmare of political bureaucracies. At least the rest of the world knew what was coming. At least the rest of the world could hear the rush of bombs, and the cries of humans wasting away in starvation, slavery, rape, torture, mass murder and human sacrifice, while their conquerers came.

While you were sleeping, America had a dream set aside, by a foundation of men who claimed to be free and fought for this freedom. They formed a government of people for the people and tried to change the entire world in their wake, but no one ever truly woke up. We tore across the land, raping it of its commodity, and providing delusion for its inhabitants. We offered new hope and new ideas to "another race", and to "another faith", we offered our religion, a new world order. We never woke up.

This was not "another race", "another faith". We failed to see we were the rest of the world, we were the world, a tiny piece of a large faction of conquerers, trying to be free from our own inherent misgivings.

We cannot separate our "race". We are a species of homo genus man. Upright we walk. Walking was our downfall. Since our walking above the grassy havens, we became filled with devastating egos. We could see our enemies, and could choose when they saw us, or so we thought. Little did we know, they can smell us miles before our undeveloped senses ever make signal to our half wit brains. Aha, but we are creative, and somehow found a way to lay stake to our territories not just to place boundary among our animal accompaniment, but to lay boundaries among ourselves. We are but from different tribes, and there cannot be more than one alpha on the plain. Remember this.

We are perhaps the most ignorant of all species on earth, and perhaps the most unequipped for inhabiting our eden. We separate ourselves giving naive terms like "race" and "ethnicity" based on territory we never owned or should claim to and color that we don't even have clear definitions for. Worse, generations pass so far ahead, that origin lines are vague and illusive, as we rely on what our ancestors have fed us. We are overpopulating, so we keep our population in check by instituting warfare, genocide, torture, human sacrifice, and the list goes on. It seems the moral choice to continue to have offspring and then continue to have it killed.

Americans are different though, we stand for pride and freedom. Don't blame us, its the dream we have, verses the rest of the world with its nightmares. We do not suffer the consequences of rape, murder, and torture. We do not take part in human sacrifice and genocide. We do not suffer from starvation. These are not part of our American dream....we can teach the rest of the world to be free...from its own insolence. We are asleep; we are...dreaming.

Wake up America. Your dream is over. Face the world and institute a change. Stop pretending its the lie when its inconvenient, stop allowing the lies to be truth because it offers you a silent solace. While the world undergoes a climate change, we are worried about our pockets. We have been bought and sold, our government is not of or for the people. The only one who cares about you is you. The only one that can institute change is you.

Rise up from your beds America! Don't go steadfast into a revolution, rather go steadfast into an evolution. Use what little part of the brain that does function, and realize this. Right down to the core of you, you are homo genus man. You're right to freedom is not given to you by a constitution. It is a birthright. You are convinced of many things in this country. One, the most important, that it is the constitution that gives you the right to be free. This is a lie. Second you have been allowing yourself to be a slave under the pretense of this freedom. You are bought, owned and paid for, because you chose to be, and still choose to be. You are part of an intricate system that tells you what you can and cannot do, based on an outline of consequences. Perhaps you still need your government, because, your anserine brain cannot not decipher natural consequences allotted with those freedoms.

Of course you need lines in the road to define your path. Of course you need policies and laws to govern to protect you from other half wits. Certainly you haven't the most instinctual of mechanisms to preserve your life and protect yourself. After all we are the only species that commits suicide. Surely we must implement these things. Certainly we cannot invent a weapon that will take out the entire planet in one lilt by ourselves. We need each other for this, don't we?

Besides, you are grazing off of land that is not yours despite what your deeds may tell you, and in your pockets you carry money that is not yours, for it is property of the federal reserve. Sure you can borrow against it, or buy things with it, in fact, that's what they want. Give them back their IOU's and since you don't have enough for that item or service you really don't need, well there is credit, so you can go from having a promissory note to pay you money that the banking systems don't have, to owing the bank money you don't have.

This has been a fact since most of the gold miners were hung. They would place gold in a vault for safekeeping, a modern day bank, and of course the bank saw it fit to lend out the gold that was never theirs, rather other people's money. The only difference now I suppose is that when the federal reserve runs out of money, it just creates more.

Of course we have to hand one thing to our present owners, they will take care of us when we become disabled, or too elderly to continue putting into the system. They have even set up a fund for us, right? Social security, a retirement fund if you will for those of us that have worked so hard in the early years of our life putting hard earned money into the system that chooses where it goes for us. Would you lend your neighbor $4.00 a week and tell him to invest it for you. Rather, you give it to the government. There are some smart people in our government. They would know how to better invest it themselves so it is there for us later. Right? No. It's a lie. It's more money that was never yours, taken from you under the pretenses of your interest, so they can pay for things you don't have a choice in, and there isn't really any left.

Disabled, another lie. We do not have disabled people in this country, rather we have people perfectly able to function, with the right amenities and accessibilities. Of course those that are truly making decisions for us want to partake in convincing someone they are disabled, and it has become a household term. What's better then convincing someone they are unable when you don't want them to believe otherwise.

The elderly are not an inept group of people, yet too many they are viewed that way. Many are very capable individuals. What of those who are inept, would they be with proper care? Of course not, but the cost of necessary medicine and health care outweigh the fixed income they are promised. That makes sense, I mean, we have smart investors in our government who have invested that money we gave them and put it to good use. They don't need their homes anyway, so lets put leans on their property because they cannot pay for their increasing health care costs. It's on land they never really owned to begin with, after all they rented it from their towns, so their towns could choose where to invest their monies. Taxes, go figure, paid with promissory notes given to us for our labors.

So Americans finally get a glimpse about how all this is working, because suddenly they are caught in the world wind themselves and what happens? They have an American tradition that always gives them hope. Every four years millions of Americans are bombarded with pre-approved paid for messages about upcoming changes to our nations. Every four years they rally together in hopes that one of these half wit human beings will finally dig us out of this hole we have all taken a part to be in. Every four years we gather together among the division lines of two political parties to select one great candidate that can make a change. WE follow suit with every other American with our dream in hand, strut off in conversation about our great choice without knowing any different. How many Americans vote without knowing the details of the process in which they partake? A majority of them. Majority does not rule...vote for vote would of course be difficult with our ever growing population, so its done by state.

The world has become our advisory. Fear is for the wolves. Our fear should not drive us, it should tell us of a real threat...such an instinct however, has been maimed and re instituted among governments. Do not fear your neighbors, rather hope that they will have the strength you have when you awaken.

Can we truly awaken from this dream? Why is it we always depend on someone else for our hopes, to institute change for us? Can we not take responsibility for our own abilities to do this for ourselves. Can we not depend on ourselves? We do have the capability to walk upright, and if we cannot, can we not invent ways in which we can? Is what little genius we have wasted? Get up from your beds, the world outside has changed...you have been in a coma for all these years. Wasting the ability to walk upright. Take your atrophied muscles and take a few steps outside your front door. What do you really see?

We are the world, it's entire contents is us. Yet we waste away in an era of consumption. Nature is fighting back at a pace we cannot begin to cope with and we are so crowded together we are waging war for a little stake to call our own. There can only be one alpha on the plain. By the world's end the only alpha left standing will be the plain itself. It's no ones fault but our own.

We cannot blame anyone, for it gives that individual or group power over us. We must not depend on others to educate us, media too is bought and sold. We must seek out our own truths, question evidence put before us. We must have no authority over us but ourselves, we must place trust in our own judgments and learn from our own inadequacies. We must not be afraid of change, it is inevitable, embracing it will only serve to manipulate it to our liking. We must invest, invest in ourselves, in our own futures, in the future of our offspring, in our own abilities. We must take our problems as our own and offer ourselves our own solutions, and we must allow others to do the same.

Freedom to do so is our birthright, not given to us by our individual nations. We are born unowned, unoccupied, free from the beginning. The gift of life only gains value in what we decide to do with it. You have been dreaming long enough. Now you must take action. The only nation that is truly one nation is the nation unto ourselves, the rest will fall into place as it should. Believe as you need to believe, but to not believe in a lie, for when the truth comes, and the truth will always come, you will find yourself in devastation. Do not blame someone or something else. In every equation there lies a fault. Between every dynamic and interrelated relationship you hold among the rest of your species, a fault is yours, an original choice which you may not choose to see anymore. See it, know it well. These are your shortcomings, seek them out, hunt them down, change yourself. This is another instinct we have lost. To discover our own ineptitudes and rise above them. With this accomplishment, then and only then, comes a clear choice for your future, comes a peace within yourself.

You may or may not choose to seek out a way to help others discover an awakening, and others may forever sleep within their dreams and nightmares, but this isn't about American politics. It isn't about an overpopulated species who either maim and murder each other or kill themselves. This isn't about our environments. It isn't about genetics, or psychology. This is about you. What you allowed to happen while you were sleeping. You engorged yourself on goods you didn't need, set yourself up in a comfortable place where all you worried about was when it was going to come crashing down. You closed your eyes while people were raped and pillaged, you closed your eyes as people without hope committed suicide. You lay down and closed your eyes while nations waged war. You blamed leaders across the world for their ineptitudes and their tyrannies. Worse of all, while you were sleeping, you claimed ignorance to your own inaction. While you were sleeping you were one more statistic, placed somewhere conveniently to prove someone else's point. While you were sleeping, you dreamed away in atrophy.
