do you remember where you were, that day?
...when the sky blew out and the world imploded and all the stupid people walked by
with insipid grins on their plaster faces
or glued to their cell phones barking orders taking mental notes about
nothing
NOTHING mattered
no one saw you standing on the sidewalk screaming
no one heard you crying
no
do not take this from me do not let me go do not let me
fall
no one stopped you from walking into traffic
raising your arms like their almighty savior
bowing your head and praying
to something you knew deep within you wasn't there
and lifting your eyes to meet
your own inevitable apocolypse
but afterward
they noticed the blood
and wept.
