Whippy Leaks: Are You KIdding Me?

Snidely Whiplash
A drop by Hot Air can be an eye opening experience.

Take for example Steny Hoyer's utterance "There are a whole lot of people in the Tea Party that I see in these polls who don't want any compromise. My presumption is they have unhappy families." This was Hoyer's way of object lesson and social commentary. I think he was saying if you're from a broken home environment ya don't know how to compromise. Wonder if Steny was as confused when he said it as I am trying to make heads or tails of it?

As well, a simple listening to the news of the day reveals a New York Times columnist thinking so long as kids will read it, censoring classics, Huck Finn specifically, is a good thing. Wouldn't want the "N-word," or the word "Injun", right? Odd, I'm part "Injun," and it doesn't bother me a bit. Am I supposed to be outraged? Offended? Can I sue someone over this? I'll be offended as Hell if there's money in it for me.

Yeah, and the Bible is too long and should have the Reader's Digest version supplant the King James version. And while we're at it, let's just toss out most of the laborious articles and sections of the old, old Constitution thingy...that would please Joy Behar who warns some have gone just a little too crazy with all this "Constitution stuff." It's getting "out of hand" according to Joy, who Rush hilariously nicknamed "Maude Behar!"

In yet another example of idiotic, bizarre and sheer hypocrisy, there's Harry Reid wanting to alter the Senate's filibuster rules. Seems he doesn't like how the Senate currently allows members to take breaks, get substitutes, etc., and laments that there are so many filibusters nowadays. Could it be because, so many filibusters I mean, the Senate as led by progressive Reid is, instead of an august contemplative chamber, a loony bin of progressives wild with power, frothing at the mouth to shut down opposition dissent?

Does the picture of Boehner taking the big gavel from Pelosi cause the reader to wish he'd have smacked the Wicked Witch of the West over the noggin with the damned thing...sorry, I forgot myself. Just fantasizing I guess...please, forgive me.

Is anyone else not feeling the governmental love in the way inflation and cost numbers are compiled? Did reader's know that when inflation is calculated, energy and food prices are NOT included in the calculation? Know that did ya? That means if the newest Kenmore front loading washer's price went unchanged from quarter to quarter, but gasoline went to $30.00 a gallon, as far as the figures used to report inflation, there would not be an accurate reflection of the ten fold increase in fuel prices.

And speaking of rising fuel prices, why are we not drilling our own offshore fields? Why are we not drilling ANWR? Is it fiscally responsible to not drill our own oil, especially in the face of skyrocketing oil prices? Militarily sound? Strategically wise? Politically viable? No, but it is a wonderful tactic of progressives to induce misery and further drive this nation to the brink.

Anyone seen the pictures of the Chinese new fighter, alleged to be a stealth type aircraft? Anyone else notice how it looks almost exactly like an F22. Look at the pics and compare. Say what? Stealing American technology? Ya mean like how the first post-war Soviet heavy bomber was an exact clone of an American B29 heavy bomber? Commies cheat? Can you say reverse engineering?

If Mexican drug violence hasn't reached catastrophic proportions, at least it's reaching an interesting one. For example, recently two clowns, actual clowns, as in men in make-up, big floppy shoes and Bozo hair I guess, were found tortured and murdered. Talk about the going getting weird? Man, them Mexican drug folks sure know how to party!

Lastly, to nail the coffin shut on these insane prevaricators pretending to be Democrats and lawmakers of the left-headed variety comes this little gem. Congressman Earl Blumenauer, a Democrat from the left coast, Oregon, of all places, wrote an internal memo "that urged health reform advocates not to advertise new end-of-life counseling regulations to avoid reviving talk of "death panels." Blumenauer celebrated the slipping of "death panels" back into regulation by advising "end-of-life advocates celebrate a "quiet" victory out of concern that Republican leaders would "use this small provision to perpetuate the 'death panel' myth."

And to PROVE WITHOUT DOUBT that Democrats know Americans, by sizable majorities, OPPOSE this and Obamacare in general, Blumenauer added "The longer this goes unnoticed, the better our chances of keeping it." Yep, keep it on the down low! That's Democrat transparency for ya. Above board, and ya know, working for the people and all that rot. In lesser nations people like this would be strung up from a tree. Good thing we don't stockpile and cache ropes and chairs near a wooded area...that could be bad.

See ya next time! And in my finest Looney Tunes ending, badeeeb, badeeeb, that's all folks!

We're in complete agreement how insane the act of censoring Huck Finn. is. But if we're going to do it, Let's censor "Roots," too. I believe that word appears several times in that story. How about hip-hop music? On another point: Isn't "end-of-life consultation" what doctors do for a patient/their family when the end is inevitable? Did I miss something? I thought I was never wrong, but I guess I was mistaken.

Great -- and I love what Major Jester said. The Ban Committee probably hasn't really read the book anyway.

I really want to slap the people who clamor for stupid censorship like that of Huck Finn. To remove any verbage out of a classic literature is to remove it's whole persona! The verbage fits with the time period the story was written, leave it alone for goodness sake! PC is way overboard in today's society and to what end? To piss the smart people off? I still say everyone who has been in the Senate for the last several years needs to be booted and lets try to start anew. Not that it's any guarantee to change anything, but it might help. Good read here.

I thought Pelosi might bonk Boehner with that hammer, lol! The censorship thing is just absurd. The language relfects the time in our history, warts and all. Jerks.

i know where to turn when i need to laugh..... that thing about the gavel?...one of those comedy shows did a photo-shoppy kind of thing where Boehner took the gavel and bopped Pelosi on the head with it.... slapstick, but funny as ........

great job on another great article. listened to most of this stuff on the radio last night

Whippy ... My FAVORITE part of the whole day's news for yesterday was that kissy kissy moment between Nancy and John. I was expecting Boehner to pull out his rag and whipe his cheek. The big reason energy prices and food prices were eliminated from inflation calculation was to stop cost of living raises. This debt ceiling fight is going to be real entertaining.

  • Major Jester1/6/2011

The anti-Twain crowd is too ignorant to realize that "Huck Finn" is one of the most powerful anti-racist, anti-slavery, pro-equality works to ever be penned. (Sigh)

  • Michele Starkey1/6/2011

The whole Mark Twain censor thing sent a hot poker up my back! Man, what next?!? Good Whippy Leaking, love it, cheers ;)
