Control features include electronic touch, an adjustable end-cycle signal, a time remaining indicator, and a delay wash feature. The washer comes with 7 wash presets. Aside from the standard wash cycles we are all familiar with, the Duet Sport has also includes clean washer, casual, and whitest whites presets.
This washer is an Energy Star approved product using 60% less water and 67% less energy than traditional front loaders. It deep cleans with half the normal water and energy needed using the activator or tumbling washing method rather than agitator. Tumbling clothes is a better method as it is gentler on fabrics and allows the washer to use less water. Volume capacity for the stainless steel tub is 3.3 cubic feet allowing you to do larger loads. In addition to saving you on water and electricity, the specialized detergent dispenser requires less detergent than you think to wash even a large load.
Spin speeds maxing out at 1050 rpm, the deep clean system is built with shock absorbers to reduce vibration and noise. Every load washed is done quietly and can be installed on a second floor without any worry about interference downstairs. The overall depth of the machine is 29.25 inches, height 36 inches and the width of the Duo Sport is 27 inches. It is easy to install and is flexible on installation, giving you the option of stacking, storing under the counter or on pedestals.
Whirlpool provides a 1 year warranty on parts for the washer and any labor. You of course can purchase a larger warranty from your place of purchase if desired. Prices for the Whirlpool Duet Sport Front Load Washer range from $670 to $800 depending on where you prefer to shop and only offered in white.
The Duet Sport is a must have for homes and can be easily utilized in apartments as well with its stackable and under-counter storage features. Pricey as it may be, with the above average Energy Star rating and detergent saving capabilities, you'll get your money back in the end and laundry is a much smaller and less time consuming chore.
