White Elephant Resale Shop at Children's Memorial Helps Raise Funds

Having volunteered in various capacities at Children's Memorial Hospital, located at 2300 Children's Plaza in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, I always felt so appreciated every time I volunteered, as the staff and other volunteers where always so welcoming and gracious. Although I still try to donate hours, I don't have nearly as much time as I used to because of my job.

One way that I feel that I can make a difference, however, is by shopping and donating to the White Elephant Resale Shop, located at 2380 North Lincoln Avenue, in the hospital's plaza. I love this shop, and I always find interesting items to purchase. I've even purchased designer clothes for a fraction of what you would normally pay for it, books, and I even bought a bike. I never expected to see such gorgeous artwork at a resale shop, but it's there! I also purchased one of the most beautiful bracelets there to give my mother.

If you can't find anything you need at the White Elephant Resale Shop, you could always bring in gently used items for a donation. All the proceeds go to helping the hospital, and this is a great way to give back if you are unable to donate your time by volunteering. You can also arrange for your donations to be picked-up if you aren't able to drop them off. The volunteer staff is so helpful and friendly, and if you need assistance for anything, they are very accommodating.
