I can remember paying around 79 cents a bottle for it, about 10 years ago, and now I still purchase it at Super Wal-Mart for a dollar. Sometimes the Dollar store has it, as the same price.
It is in a gray bottle, with 'White Rain' in white lettering, and the logo and other lettering in green. The pump top is also green, with a clear plastic pull off top, to prevent it from spraying by accident.
I have my hair in a French twist, and wash it every five days. Once it is washed, gel put in it, blow dried, curled with the curling iron, and teased, I am ready for my hair spray.
I comb back the right side of my hair, and give it a light spray, and then put the first lots of grips in my hair, to secure it. I then get the left side of my hair, and comb that too. It gets a light spray, and then I lift it up to form a French twist. I keep it in place with more grips/pins.
After arranging the curls on top of my hair, I then hold the bottle of hair spray about six inches from my head, and spray all over my hair. I then get on with whatever I am doing, and let the first spray dry.
I do a second spray, and this one normal gives my hair a much firmer feel to it. A few minutes later I check to make sure that there are no areas that I have missed. Sometimes I just have to spray a curl, or the top of the French twist.
Now my hair is ready for the Florida humidity, wind, and dampness. It will stay in place. The only time I sometimes have a little hair come down from the twist, is if I am doing a lot of swimming.
I do use the White Rain unscented extra hold hair spray each morning too. After getting up, I have to rearrange the back of my hair, and just give it a quick spray. It then stays in place.
Sometimes when I brush my hair, ready to wash it again, it may take a little extra brushing to get the spray out of it, but nothing that I can't handle.
I have found other hair sprays that are as good as White Rain, but they don't compare with price. I buy them when they are really cheap, have a great coupon, or free at CVS or Walgreen's drugstore. However, I always come back to White Rain.
This hair spray does have alcohol as one of the ingredients.
One other thing I like about White Rain is that it is unscented so it doesn't spoil the fragrance of my perfume.
