I will list some information on places for white water rafting in North Carolina. Nothing beats the heat like white water rafting and North Carolina has plenty of companies to assist you in that endeavor. Each North Carolina white water rafting company will have a Web site link. Adventurous Fast River Rafting

Adventurous Fast Water Rafting is on the Nantahala River in western North Carolina; check their Web site with this link. Adventurous Fast River Rafting has been in business since 1979 so they must know what they are doing. They offer guided or unguided trips with a variety of craft to float the Nantahala River on. You can use them to assist your fun from March until October.

Watauga Kayak

Watauga Kayak offers guided whitewater rafting trips as well as fly fishing on the Watauga River in North Carolina and Tennessee. Watauga Kayak is located at 1409 Broad Street in Elizabethton Tennessee and you can visit their Web site with this link. I have fished in the Watauga river in North Carolina and it's a beautiful place to spend a day. Watauga Kayak can assist you with boat rentals, lake kayaking and river kayaking.

Nantahala Outdoor Center

The Nantahala Outdoor Center is near the Great Smoky Mountain National park in western North Carolina, check their Web site here. The Nantahala Outdoor Center offers trips on the Nantahala, French Broad, Cheoha, Chattooga, Nolichucky, Ocoee and the Pigeon Rivers. They also have a great paddling school and an adventures program than includes biking, a rope course, climbing and hiking. The last time I went white water rafting in North Carolina, it was with the Nantahala Outdoor Center and I had a blast.

Rolling Thunder River Company

The Rolling Thunder River Company is in western North Carolina; visit their Web site with this link. Rolling Thunder offers trips in both Tennessee and North Carolina on the Ocoee, Nantahala and Toccoa Rivers. They offer beginners and intermediates half day and full day rafting trips.
