Whitey was a wild cat.
The best mouser around.
We kept him
to keep the squirrels down.
A fighter and a biter,
best watch your hand.
A hunter, he caught food
for the others.
Saw him put a rabbit
on a house cat's plate.
He came home broken
half dead of the dogs.
A better, braver cat
there never was.
The end of this killer
was very kind.
